“It’s all about the LOVE”

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

We need to have a healthy definition of Love if we are going to

understand the main message of the Bible.

There are different types of love mention in the Bible, but there is
only one type of love that will allow us to grow into the image of
Christ.

This love is called Agape which is others-centered, Jesus shared

this type of love for us this morning we are celebrating that love.

As we look at Love, what it means and how we are to apply it to

our lives we will see Jesus acknowledged as Savior and God the
Father glorified. It’s all about the God we serve. Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Speaking is meaningless with out love

1. Spiritual language.
2. Making noise. Blowing hot air.

Prophecy without love

1. A man with faith can move mountains. (Mat.17:20)
2. Not a battle of love verses gifts.
3. Paul is saying, it’s not gifts but love that proves we are
Christians.
4. Agape love, this kind of love does not demand or except
repayment for the love given.

This love has little to do with emotions and a lot to do with action.
1. God’s love reveal through Jesus.
2. Jesus’ love reveal through the Cross.
1 Corinthians 13:4-10

Love is Patience
People who can wait out troubles and not strike out because of
their sufferings.

God’s example of this love

2 Peter 3:9
God doesn’t want anyone to perish no matter what we do.

Love is kind
People who reaches out with the heart of someone else benefiting.
Not what’s in it for me.

Meat given up to pagan gods. Paul it’s not about me.

Paul uses 8 negatives to reveal more of this true love.

mean the jerk on the road, the bum in front of the store, even the
cashier that has the worst attitude you ever met.

Love has nothing to hide.

Paul mentions four things that Love

PROTECTION- which is God’s covering.

TRUSTING- putting our faith in Him.

HOPE- how we are confide in Him

PERSEVERS- to stay under.

Why is this written in the middle of spiritual gifts? It’s to warn us
of how fleshy we can get.

The Lord give it all knowing He would be rejected, beaten, and

killed, all because He loved the Father and us so that we would be
made right and given the wonderful privilege to stand at the throne
of God.

Love is not easy it takes work sometimes it even hurts and the
Lord is saying I did it for you, will you do it for your brother/sister
because this is the true reflection of me.

1 John 4:16
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in
them.

disappear.

these gifts.

To understand this more we need to read the last couple of verses.

Put away childish things

1. Not saying we don’t need spiritual gifts.
2. Don’t nuts about the gifts that Love is the expense.
3. Everything may not be clear, but when we get to heaven it
will clear as day.

Faith, Hope, and LOVE

1. Will never end.
2. The greatest is LOVE.

Why LOVE?

We won’t need faith for we will see God face to face.

And we won’t need to hope once Christ arrives.

But LOVE continues because God is LOVE.

Are you wondering if God loves you?

1John 4:9-10

Romans 8:39

Although there is nothing or anyone who can take us out of this

love.

We can reject this love by not loving with this love.

In John 21:15-17
The Lord asked Peter a question that I believe he is asking us
today.

____ do you love me, you know I love you.

____ do you love me, you know I love you.

____ do you love me, Lord you know everything. You know I do.

The Lord loves you and I, He is asking us what is more important

to you spiritual gifts, this time here, yourself, or is He the love of
our life.
