A. Neo Realism cenderung menitikberatkan analisis pada power cycle theory yang menggambarkan grafik naik turunnya distribution of power dalam sistem internasional serta memprediksi apa yang akan terjadi sebagai efek sistemik dari kejadian yang terjadi sebelumnya. BASIC ASSUMPTIONS: - Realist doesnt believe in cooperation and definitely institutions - Realist doesnt even think about the functions of institutions - Cooperation PAWNS the sovereignty of states because Realist basically relies on the assumptions that state should be ruling and independent, thus the existence of cooperation will only make the other states gaining benefits that somehow harm the state power and role in the international system - Realist certainly rejects the cooperation because it requires sharing knowledge process and transparency inside the system which are understood as a very great loss that can decrease the state secret power because it is REVEALED and SHARED as COLLECTIVE information - STRENGTHENING states power by CUTTING other states power B. Neo Liberalism menitikberatkan analisis pada upaya state untuk menjaga terciptanya pengambilan keputusan yang bersifat rasional, dengan dasar asumsi bahwa pada dasarnya manusia itu rasional sehingga keputusan-keputusan yang diambil telah melalui proses consideration yang panjang. BASIC ASSUMPTIONS: - Liberalism is not inherently peace-loving But, it tends to compose CONFORMITY in international system consequently its easier to keep the order works SEE the factual condition after the World War II the winning party decided to make an international organization / cooperation to MAINTAIN the FEAR among states and PREVENT the other WARS to occur by reminding the other states about the importance to consider other aspect beside war such as TRADE SEE how the international cooperation goal works fundamentally to accommodate the states needs in term of PEACE

Liberalism gives senses of belonging and love1, for example the creation of community Lead us to the further questions: Do you create community? Who create community? It is empirically implemented in the terms of Indonesia establishment moment How can we accidentally convince millions citizens to gather in one place and one identity as Indonesian? This kind of phase is clearly identified as the good willing and eager which are inherent and upcoming from the Indonesian people to INTEGRATE and UNITE. Liberalism gives the RATIONAL CONSIDERATION to choose among the good or better choices Why did I use the words good or better instead of good or bad? Remember, Liberalist never judges things are good or bad, each things are unique so they have their own specification that are inevitable and undeniable thus we have to see them just the way they are Liberalist sees things by the assumptions whether if they are taken as decisions, will the impact accommodate majority interests and will the decisions bring them more good than harm? KEY POINT : RATIONALITY Liberalist tends to allow the freedom of innovation so that the movements in liberal area is so fast Its reasonable because ideas and thoughts are deliberated freely and peacefully It is good for the improvement and control over the government and moral values spreading in the society Liberalist TRUSTS MUCH in the functions of institutions undertaking that basically institutions is the device to FACILITATE COOPERATION among states which is alleged as the solution to mitigate conflict Liberalist tends to attain the STABILITY in the terms of international system, which the actor we observe are states Realizing and Understanding the variations of national interests of states not as threat but more likely as the way to share and collaborate As a result, the objectives to achieve is accomplishing the importance of HARMONY OF INTEREST between those uniqueness and dissimilarity of states

C. How NEO REALISM and NEO LIBERALISM see the World Market? Both Realist and Liberalist see that the existence of world market primarily start by Great Britain as the former imperialist in the world. - However, Realist assumes that there is always exist a great gap between states who have great power and those who have less-power, consequently the hegemon among them roles as the ruling state who can determine how the market will flow SEE THE REALISM SKEPTIC VIEW related to establishment of WTO 2 - On the other hand, Liberalist doesnt perceive that ownership of power is that important to influence the market flow As the philosopher of Liberalism, such as

David Ricardo and Adam Smith stated, Laissez faire pour laissez passer It indicated that Liberalist do think that the flow of market happens naturally by the mechanism inside the market itself Its more about the economic matters which are buying, selling, and distributing rather than power relations as the concern of realism belief D. Evidences in Factual World Related to The Debate between NEO REALISM and NEO LIBERALISM - In international system Realist says that the great powers have the ability to declare I make the reality implicates that the rest state which are recognized as powerless better to face the reality rather than fight the superpower or hegemon. - Powerless states have no other option to take, regarding the crisis happens in Europe, Realist thinks Liberalist should give comprehensive explanations why the roles of European Union as institutions does not contribute that much to solve this problem, even as the effects of the crisis, there is an issue of disintegration inside the European Union itself. It drives the most of Realist to question: If the utilization of institutions is that much useful, why now this kind of crisis in EU cant be solved? Does it prove that actually institutions are just the camouflage of fake peace and cooperation among states to build an easier way for the hegemon to deliver its national interest in international system? REALIST MAJOR QUESTION PS: Im just wondering why Realist is so pessimistic in the courage to make peace. Hey brother and sister, dont you ever contemplate that the existence of good willing is truly REAL? Please dont underestimate and doubt the kindhearted molds of Liberalist 3
