DURHAM, N.C.Dress for Success Triangle NC is kicking off its annual Fall Excess Sale Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Northgate Mall, Entrance 2, located at 1058 West Club Blvd. The annual event provides local shoppers the opportunity to purchase professional business attire, accessories and maternity clothing at low prices ranging from $3 to $10 and in sizes 0 to 36. All proceeds benefit Dress for Success Triangle NC. Director of Programs and Operations Megan Risley said, The Fall Excess Sale is one of our best events. You wont find prices like ours anywhere else for the high quality and variety of professional clothing and accessories offered during the sale. Since we are an organization that relies heavily on individual donations and sponsorships, this sale also serves as a fundraiser for our incredible womens programs. This event truly is a great opportunity to stock up on all the professional clothes you need for the year. I can hardly wait to kick it off. Shoppers are usually lined up out the door by the time the store opens. This year, the not-for-profits suiting program has provided suits, mentoring, job search assistance and financial literacy assistance to more than 800 disadvantaged women - MORE -

Professional business attire used in the suiting program is donated from individuals, local and national clothing stores, and community shoe and purse drives. The organization relies exclusively on its active referral partners to receive the women, who need its services most. The Fall Excess Sale serves as an annual fundraising event for the organization to continue funding of its vital programs. By the end of the year Dress for Success Triangle NC will have provided assistance to 1200 women and helped 75 percent of its Professional Womens Group members retain their jobs after the first year. Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-forprofit organization offering services to help disadvantaged women gain and maintain meaningful employment. Its mission is, to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since 1997, DFS has served more than 550,000 women around the world. The Dress for Success Triangle NC affiliate was founded by Durham-native Pat Nathan, and was granted its charter in February 2008. Since 2008, the Triangle NC location has provided professional suits to more than 600,000 women. ###
