SALON SUCCESS
Salon Success means going beyond the technical and focusing on the personal and business skills necessary for a great career. You will learn the habits, skills and attitudes necessary for self-marketing and client building. You will also develop your Career Portfolio which will be your personal marketing tool throughout your career.

GUEST EDUCATORS
One of the most important advantages our training offers is our Partners In Training. M.C. College regularly brings in important guest speakers from industry. These speakers include leading stylists providing the latest trend information, product educators providing valuable product knowledge or salon owners sharing customer service and business expertise.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Job searches can be tough. We want to help you avoid the challenges of looking for work when you graduate. We do this through our Work Experience Placements. We have partnerships with select salons allowing us to place you in the salon situation that is most suitable for your employment needs. For many of our students, the work experience placement leads to job offers before they have even finished school.
GRADUATION
Celebrations are important at M.C. College. We like to do it up right by hosting two graduation events at each school location each year. These Grads include a formal cap and gown ceremony, awards and scholarship presentations, followed by a dinner and dance. Awards consist of Academic Achievement Awards and Citizenship Awards for each program. A Valedictorian Award is given to the top student of each program. Also given is the Frank Cairo Award this special and prestigious award is given to the graduate who best exemplifies the qualities of commitment, integrity and respect.
CREATIVE SCHOLARSHIPS
M.C. College loves to encourage and reward exceptional students. Scholarships in the amount of $300.00 - $800.00 are available for full-time enrolled students who demonstrate an excellent attendance record, exceptional creative abilities, outstanding customer service, strong interpersonal skills, and who participate in extra-curricular school activities. The M.C. College Scholarship for Excellence in High School Cosmetology is also available for students participating in cosmetology classes at the high school level.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
17 years of age or older High School Transcript - Students must have Grade 12 with a minimum of Grade 11 English, Math and Science. Career Investigation 2 pages handwritten or typed describing: - Information you have researched regarding wages, job availability, career paths and career advancement in the Hairstyling Industry - Your personal reasons for choosing a career in Hairstyling - Your long term goals - The names of at least two people in the hairstyling industry who you spoke to for information - Your investigation may be presented in essay format, point form, power point or whatever creative means you would like to use to show us your research! Two Letters of Reference from someone other than family or friends - This may include a co worker, supervisor, teacher or counsellor. Mature Student Status - 19 years of age with a G.E.D (General Equivalency Diploma) For students who attended high school outside of Canada, completion of the school entrance exam with a passing mark of 65% maybe substituted for a high school transcript. All entrance requirements must be received by the college at least three weeks prior to the chosen start date.
