LSA Plus
The KRONE-PLUS Quick Connection Technique is highly reliable and costeffective wire connection system for modern telecommunications and data networks. It is a comprehensive system built around the widely accepted KRONE 10 pair termination module with its range of built-in features. This is complemented by an extensive selection of accessories for protection, circuit identification and testing. The product range has been enhanced by the development of innovative products for the data market. The KRONE LSA-PLUS system uses a unique Insulation Displacement Contact (IDC) technique which eliminates the need to wire-strip, solder or make screw terminations, and dramatically increases productivity. This system is supplied for connections in various fields like telecom, structured cable and industrial wiring.

1. Insulation clamping ribs hold wire firmly in position and isolate the contact area from vibration and other forms of mechanical stress. 2. Flexible silver-plated contacts, positioned at 45 angle across the axis of the wire, make a solid, gas tight connection 3. Constant axial and torsional restoring forces, created by the unique contract and plastic housing, maintain a durable connector
Positioning contacts at a 45 angle leaves more wire between contact points and provides a more reliable, stress resistant connection

DISCONNECTION CONTACT
KRONE Disconnection Modules use a normally closed two piece contact, with a convenient disconnection feature. By inserting a Disconnect Plug into a wire pair, you can temporarily or permanently disconnect the circuit. A Test Cord can be inserted into a pair to test each side (look both ways) of the circuit independently. This greatly accelerates fault identification. The centre contact point can also be used for monitoring or overvoltage protection.
CONNECTION CONTACT
KRONE Connection Modules use a one piece contact, which provides a continuous link between feeder and jumper wiring. The centre contact point allows for easy parallel testing, monitoring, patching and over-voltage protection.
SWITCHING CONTACT
KRONE Switching Modules use a normally opened, two piece contact. Switching Modules offer high density termination and patching. This allows the user to double the number of terminations without loss in performance.
Contact pressure relief test KRONE simulates artificial ageing by storing the contacts for longer periods at higher temperatures. The quality of the contact is subsequently tested. Temperature shock test KRONE uses this test to determine whether frictional corrosion occurs under extreme temperature changes and whether temperature reactions in theconnector housing have avoidable effects. Humidity resistance test KRONE tests the effects of high humidity on contacts and insulation material. Corrosive atmosphere test KRONE tests how the contacts react to the effect of harmful gases in an aggressive industrial atmosphere.
KRONE Quality Not even high humidity effects contacts or insulation resistance. KRONE Quality Most aggressive constituents in the atmosphere do not affect contact quality.
This is is a small selection from the extensive program of KRONE quality tests. The test describes here are representative of numerous scientific experiments, including joint international efforts with several universities and testing institutes. 3

1. Fix frame, make earth connection. 2. Introduce cable and strip the sheath (free cable length should equal distance of connection module placed furtherest away + 200mm). Then secure cable. 3. Form wires into 10-pair groups. 4. Termination of wires Take bottom most module and hold about 50 mm to 80 mm from allocated position. Push wire bundle at lease 150 mm through the module guide loop in the position (surplus wire in a loop). Pull wires between the guide notches and lay into contact slots. Terminate wires with the Connection Tool. Discard surplus wire.
5. Jumpering Discard surplus wire. Press jumper wires into the contact slot and connect with the Connection Tools pairs 1-10. Take all jumpers to the left side. Lead jumper wires through jumper guide on left hand side of the module as required. 6. Wire removal Wire should be removed using hook housed at the side of the tool. 7. Removal of modules from the distribution frame. To remove module from backmount frame use the swing-out module extractor on the insertion tool.
