as soon as the Catholic Church got
wind of the event they hired a loud-
speaker truck to spread propaganda
against the Community Church.
They claimed that the church was
a cult that preached lies. Ironically
this brought more attention and a
bigger crowd to the outreach! This
past summer the ministry hosted
medical clinics in the community
and Emme, a performance group
from Word of Life, put on dramas
for the community. This has given
a lot of credibility to the ministry
there and opened up new doors
to serve. Community church has
shown that they care about the
people in Lagoa and that they
want to invest in lives there.
Pastor Ricardo is leading two
church services a week, one on
Thursday night and the other on
Sunday morning. The overall
expense for the build-
ing is around R$200 a
month, R$160 for rent
and R$40 for energy
and water. God has
provided several indi-
viduals here to support
the church’s monthly
expenses for one year,
but there are still start
up costs that need to be
funded. Pastor Ricardo
estimates that they will need
around R$200 ($100) for remod-
eling and around R$1000 ($500)

Never before in the 5 years of out-

Ameixas. In the past the ministry
has only been able to send a pastor
there on weekends. The church has
great potential to grow, simply be-
cause of this big difference. Pastor
Assuerio, after being in Africa for
a little over a year, has moved with
his family to take over the Ameixas
outreach.

being sponsored by the Tracun-
haem Community Church.

searching for more good Christian
teachers, especially teachers fluent
in English.

Moraes Family Update
With a newborn baby, kids growing up, and an ongo-
ing passion for God’s work, the Moraes family continues to
be blessed in Brazil. The building of their house is nearing
finale as they intend to move in to the new home by Decem-
ber. Apart from taking care of the baby, Heather is now back

TELE TYPE The Value of Partnerships

For those of you who know me, you have heard my comments about the importance for us as born
again Christians to work together for the benefit of the Kingdom. For the past 40 days, our Bible College
hosted the EMME Group, a Word of Life 32-voice choir, formed by young people from all over Brazil as
well as 3 American teenagers. They travel around the country every year partnering with churches and shar-
ing the wonderful news of Jesus and His love. World Renewal Brazil and Community Churches had the
privilege to work together with EMME and harvest, by the grace of God and for His glory, a great harvest.
They presented two musicals – A Man Called Jesus, the story that changed history and The Apocalypse. Af-
ter 12 presentations to over 4,000 people we saw 287 people publicly making a first time decision to follow
Christ, 9 of them saying they were consecrating their lives to the Lord and 10 seeking reconciliation with
God. We praise the Lord for the Macae Baptist Church in the state of Rio de Janeiro that faithfully prayed
for this missionary outreach and paid for most of the expenses we had for the last month in order to have
EMME serving our Community Churches. Our prayer now is that those new believers in the cities of Car-
pina, Timbauba, Nazare, Tracunhaem, Ameixas, Paudalho, Desterro, Rosarinho, Lagoa de Itaenga, Lagoa do
Carro and Cha de Alegria will grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Lord. It is also a need to
pray that we, as believers come to the point where we realize that the Great Commission is a task that can be
better accomplished in our generation if we work together as members of His Church.
