Disassembly
ESD Precautions are required when working on this LIFEBOOK computer. Make sure the LIFEBOOK is turned off before beginning this procedure.

1. Turn the LIFEBOOK over.

Remove the Battery.

3. Extract 2 screws that secure the Hard Drive cover.

4.

Remove the Hard Drive cover.

5. Remove the Hard Drive.

Extract 2 screws from the bracket securing the Hard Drive.

7. Photo of Hard Drive and bracket.

8.

Extract 1 screw securing the memory door cover.

9. Remove the memory door cover.

10. Remove the Memory module.

11. Extract 1 screw securing the fan door cover.

12. Extract 2 screws that secure the fan.

13. Disconnect the fan connector. Remove the fan.

14. Extract 1 screw that secures the wireless cover.

15. Remove both antennas from the Sierra WWAN card as shown.

16. Extract 1 screw that secures the Sierra WWAN card.

17. Remove the Sierra WWAN card.

18. Remove both antennas from the wireless card as shown.

19. Remove 1 screw that secures the wireless card.

20. Remove the wireless card.

21. Remove 8 screws from the Lower cover as shown.

22. Remove Hinge Cover. (Note: Theres a clip on the bottom that holds the hinge cover).

23. Lift Up the Keyboard.

24. Remove the Keyboard sheet as shown.

25. Disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.

26. Remove 1 screw that secures the Application board as shown.

27. Disconnect the Application board from the cable as shown.

28. Disconnect the Application cable from the system board.

29. Release clip then remove Bluetooth board as shown.

30. Disconnect the Application cable from the Bluetooth board.

31. Remove 4 screws that secure the Upper Cover assembly.

32. Disconnect the Glidepoint cable from the system board.

33. Lift up the microphone from the post as shown.

34. Lift up and remove the Upper Cover assembly.

35. Remove the LCD cable. (Note: Cable is secured by tape).

36. Remove the digitizer cable as shown.

37. Unroute the Antenna wires as shown.

38. Extract 4 screws from the LCD hinge.

39. Remove the LCD assembly.

40. Disconnect the microphone connector from audio board.

41. Disconnect the white USB cable from the system board and the USB board.

42. Remove 1 screw that secure the USB board as shown.

43. Remove the USB board.

44. Remove 4 screws that secure the System Board.

45. Remove the 2 hex screws from the VGA connector.

46. Disconnect the audio cable as shown.

47. Lift up and remove the System Board.

48. Remove the DC Connector from the System Board.

49. Remove 3 screws from the CPU Heatsink as shown.

50. Remove the CPU Heatsink.

52. Disconnect the Audio cable from the Audio board as shown.

53. Disconnect the Speaker cable from the Audio board.

54. Remove 2 screws that secure the Audio board.

55. Lift up and remove the Audio board.

LCD Assembly (Disassembly Procedures)

57. Remove 4 screw covers as shown.

58. Remove 4 screws as shown.

59. Use a Pry tool to remove the LCD Front cover.

60. Remove 2 screws that secure the Fingerprint Digitizer board.

61. Disconnect the 2 cable from the Fingerprint Digitizer board.

62. Remove 1 screw from the ambrient light sensor board.

63. Disconnect the cable from the ambrient light sensor board.

64. Unroute the antenna from the LCD frame as highlighted.

65. Remove 2 screws that secure the LCD assembly.

66. Lift up the LCD, then remove the LCD cable secure by tape.

67. Lift up the webcam, then remove cable.

68. Remove the screw cover for the front hinge cover as shown.

69. Remove 1 screw from the front hinge cover.

70. Remove the front and rear hinge cover.

71. Remove 2 screws from the hinge.

72. Remove the hinge and unroute cables as shown.

73. Remove the LCD cable.

74. Remove tape that secures the wireless antennas as shown.

75. Remove the Wireless Lan antenna.

76. Lift lever then remove 1 screw that secures the Main WWAN antenna. (Note: Depends on configuration of unit).

77. Lift up the plastic cable router.

78. Remove the main WWAN wireless antenna.

Assembly
ESD Precautions are required when working on this LIFEBOOK computer. Make sure the LIFEBOOK is turned off before beginning this procedure.

1. Photo of LCD Back Cover.

2. Attached the main WWAN wireless antenna as shown.

3. Insert the plastic cable router.

4. Secure the main WWAN antenna with 1 screw. Position the lever as shown. (Note: Depends on configuration of unit)

5. Attached the Wireless LAN antenna.

6. Secure wireless antenna with tape as shown.

7. Replace the LCD cable.

8. Re-route the cables and replace the hinge on the LCD back cover.

9. Secure the hinge with 2 screws as shown.

10. Connect the front and rear hinge cover.

11. Secure the front hinge cover with 1 screw.

12. Replace the hinge front cover.

13. Connect cable to webcam and replace the webcam as shown.

14. Secure the LCD cable with tape. Replace the LCD.

15. Secure the LCD assembly with 2 screws.

16. Re-route the antenna to the LCD frame as highlighted.

17. Connect the cable to the ambrient light sensor board.

18. Secure the sensor board with 1 screw.

19. Connect the 2 cable to the Fingerprint Digitizer board.

20. Secure the Fingerprint Digitizer board with 2 screws.

21. Replace the LCD Front cover.

22. Secure the LCD Front cover with 4 screws.

23. Replace the 4 screw cover.

24. Begin Base assembly.

25. Replace the Audio board.

26. Secure the Audio board with 2 screws.

27. Connect speaker cable to the Audio board.

28. Connect the Audio cable to the Audio board as shown.

30. Replace the CPU Heatsink.

31. Secure the CPU Heatsink with 3 screws.

32. Replace the DC Connector.

33. Put the System Board back in place.

34. Connect the audio cable as shown.

35. Attach the 2 hex screws to the VGA connector.

36. Secure the System board with 4 screws.

37. Replace the USB board.

38. Secure the USB board with 1 screw.

39. Connect the white USB cable to the system board and the USB board.

40. Connect the microphone connector to the audio board.

41. Replace the LCD assembly.

42. Secure the LCD hinge with 4 screws.

43. Re-route the Antenna wires as shown.

44. Attach the digitizer cable.

45. Connect the LCD cable. (Note: Secure cable with tape)

46. Replace the Upper Cover assembly.

47. Attach the microphone to the post as shown.

48. Connect the glidepoint cable to the system board.

49. Secure the Upper Cover assembly with 4 screws.

50. Connect the Application cable to the Bluetooth board.

51. Replace the Bluetooth board as shown.

52. Connect the Application cable to the System board.

53. Connect the cable to the Application board as shown.

54. Secure the Application board with 1 screw.

55. Connect the Keyboard cable to the System Board.

56. Replace the Keyboard sheet.

57. Replace the Keyboard as shown.

58. Replace the Hinge cover. (Note: Theres a clip on the bottom that holds the hinge cover).

59. Secure the Lower cover with 8 screws.

60. Replace the Wireless card.

61. Secure the wireless card with 1 screw.

62. Connect the wireless antenna to the wireless card.

63. Replace the Sierra WWAN card.

64. Secure the Sierra WWAN card with 1 screw.

65. Connect both antenna to the Sierra WWAN card as shown.

66. Secure the Wireless cover with 1 screw.

67. Connect the fan connector. Replace the fan.

68. Secure the fan with 2 screws.

69. Secure the fan door cover with 1 screw.

70. Replace the Memory module.

71. Replace the memory door cover.

72. Secure the memory door cover with 1 screw.

74. Secure the bracket to the Hard Drive with 2 screws as shown.

75. Replace the Hard Drive.

76. Replace the Hard Drive cover.

77. Secure the Hard Drive cover with 2 screws.

78. Replace the Battery. Turn the unit over.

79. Assembly complete.
