Design and development of an embedded system for automobiles which can be used to
determine motion characteristics like direction of motion of vehicle, the turns taken during the
journey and condition of the road through which the vehicle passed like bumps and unevenness
and also determining the degree of tilt of the road.

The project builds on work on: Taking the components of acceleration along the axis x, y and z
from accelerometer (MMA7260Q), Saving the acceleration readings into memory unit
(AT24C256), nterfacing the embedded system (AVR ATMEGA32) with computer using UART
and RS-232 standard and performing calculations on the data extracted from the memory unit
and displaying the extracted information with the help of graphs (using LABVEW).


Design and development of the code in CodeVisionAVR, AVR Studio and simulating and testing
the complete code in Proteus.

Conducted various experiments to test the performance of the system in the real environment.
Experiments aimed at:

LabVIEW InterIacing:-Designed and developed VI`s and Sub-VI`s to perIorm interIacing oI various
modules and controlling the working oI the complete system through the LABVIEW (using LabVIEW
8.5)

Photovore Sept 2009-Oct2009, IEEE Project
The project aimed at building a robot which can sense light Irom the source and move in its direction to
reach the destination.
Principle oI working: Mounting LDR`s at diIIerent positions (calculated accordingly) oI the robot,
comparing the intensity oI the light at these positions and then perIorming various logistics to determine
the direction oI move.
Design and development oI code using KEIL and building the complete embedded system using 8051 and
its interIacings.

Digital Clock April 2009, Digital Design Project
Designed and Iabricated 24 hour digital clock using simple digital electronics IC`s comprising oI
counters, Irequency generators and 7segments.

Used 555 timer IC as an Astable Multivibrator to generate clock oI Irequency 1 Hz, CD4033 IC as a 5-
stage Johnson decade counter Ior the converting the Johnson code to a 7 segment decoded output Ior the
numerical display and numerical display and IC 4081 as a CMOS logic based 'AND gate Ior the
Iorming the logic to reset the clock .
Designed and simulated the logic in Multisim.
all following robot May 2008, MECHATRONICS Project
Built a robot which could trace the path by Iollowing the walls.
Used IR transmitter receiver pairs Ior sensing the presence oI walls and designed the appropriate logic
Ior driving the motors using the output values given by the sensors and moving the robot in the direction
oI walls.
Designing oI logic was done using Karnaugh Map and was then implemented using IC`s Ior various logic
gates.
