Job Posting Drama in Schools Instructor
Applicant Profile You need to: Be someone who is excited and can be a part of a team dedicated to learning of each other and helping each other develop further. Have infinite patience, compassion and an unquestioning passion for working with children. Have had a good exposure to the performing arts, having either acted in a number of plays at the school, amateur or professional level, participated in workshops, or have some kind of involvement in the performing arts. Have had demonstrated abilities to work with children, and able to handle yourself in a classroom at the same time being an effective friend, leader and role model to this highly demanding, intelligent and no-nonsense target audience. Be highly organized, have a good ability to plan and manage information resources for your constant access, and have good time and task management skills. Be a self-motivated and driven person, capable of taking the initiative to learn and improve and make the most of the countless opportunities presented to you for your own professional development. Be someone who is hungry to learn at every instant, consistently researching around what you teach and always looking for new content, approaches, and experiences to enrich yourself and your improve your abilities as an theatre educator. Your Time Commitments: 3-4 mornings of teaching per week in-class depending on the assignment throughout the academic year usually 36-40 weeks in each school. Commitment to TPPL for two academic school years (at minimum, with annual renewable after that). Attending a number of workshops throughout the year ranging from 2 weeks to 2 days in length specifically designed for developing your skill sets. Participating in our monthly group meetings and workshops to skill-share, learn and feedback. Attending internal schools meetings on a monthly basis.

Your regular duties: Diligently thinking through and planning all lessons, units and annual plans. Preparing all activities, materials and resource kits for the execution of those plans. Consistently reading childrens and teaching related material around your plans for to better inform you and enrich your abilities in the classroom. Preparing and Maintaining and sharing a regular weekly record of your work with your assigned classes with the team. Providing assessments to students at regular intervals through the year, and providing feedback reviews at set points in the year to the schools you are assigned to. Preparing and presenting at internal training workshops.

Salary: 8-25K/month, depending on extent of part time commitment. Plus fees from stand alone assignments from time to time. Location: Mumbai and Navi Mumbai
