Here is a video that i have found on YouTube, created by 'Future Shorts' who are a global film making network,

working a big community filled with many talents. The video represents how we human beings, as individuals can abuse power. When we maintain a figure in society or the power to gain things, sometimes greed can get the best of us. By true statement, I mean that well keep on wanting to receive and receive luxury or other items that we desire, the more the gain the more we want. When we see how much power we have, we go for larger things until we destroy our selves. The film shows an office worker photocopying nothing, a black hole on a paper appears and the guy figures out its magical powers. In this short film the opening credits show up, but they give us the companys name, which is FutureShorts As you can see on the figure below, a smooth sleek animation pops up with their name.

The font thats been used is unrecognized, this is the companies own designed font. From looking at the font, we can see that most letters do not connect, which feels mysterious and discrete. Comparing this font, to another, like the military font we can see a nice resemblance.

The font of the colours are red and white, which highly contrast from the black background, appealing more to the audience by standing out.

. The Future text is the colour red, whereas shorts is the colour white, The typography is very unique and we can see a secret message in this title. If you look at it, you will see the word FRESH This is why the title/logo was designed like this,

After the opening title of the company disappears, we see this short opening title sequence with the word The Black Hole quickly fading out. The screen is all black, and then suddenly circles out displaying the movie in the cut out area. The whole editing here, themes in with the title, The Black Hole and theres a hole opening. The colour they used for the text were white, this is because it contrasts with the black background. One thing I noticed was the use of font that was used for this title and this is the science fiction space font that you see in the early science fiction films, back in the 80s.

After the whole black background circles out, the camera pans/zooms towards this character. In the background before and now, we can see the setting of where this short movie is taking place. And this is in an office, a stereotypical office that we see in our everyday lifes and in movies. We can see desks and chairs link together, which suggests that this is an office where colleagues work together. The use of old computers shows us that its set in the outbreak of technology back in 2000. In the background we can see file cabinets and folders which surely reassure that this story takes place in an office. Of course, the background is blurred out, this is because the camera is focussing on the main character.

Finally the camera stops panning to when it gets around here, this is because the character is composed to be in the middle. The centre of attention, making the audience directs their attention to this person. From first impressions, we realise that he works here, from his state we can tell that hes in a lower position, such as an office employer. The use of costume used her, white shirt (unbuttoned) and a tie, shows us that this character isnt that organised or smart. But then again, this medium shot shows us his facial expressions, which is grumpy, tired and cant be asked mood. This explains why his uniform is untidy. From the lighting in background, we the audience know that it must be late at night, with the dim lights, turned off office equipment and the fact that this character is tired. One clue that this is set in the late night, is that hes all alone; therefore free to act the way he looks and is.

The footage then cuts, (edit) to an over the shoulder shot, showing us the audience what the man is doing. He is pressing a button on a printer.

Here is a low angle shot mid shot, showing the office worker drinking his drink. The only sounds we here are the ambient sounds of an office, such as the printer copying and scanning and the guy being grumpy. During the editing process, a spotlight was used here, to place a black semi circle on the frame. This plays along with the theme and make the shot more realistic that its inside the black hole,

The editing of the extract is continuity paced editing. As you can see from the image above he is drinking his drink, then the shot changes from a low angle mid to a long shot of the office worker drinking his drink. This continuity editing- logical coherence is achieved by cutting to continuity, which emphasizes smooth transition of time and space

As the office worker discovers that he can stick his hand in the hole, sound effects are applied to the extract via editing. We here a science fiction sound effect, like the star wars light sabres in action. These sound effects makes the extract more appealing since the whole scenario changes, from a plane office clich line to this science fiction work.

This scene was achieved thanks to special effects editing. A green screen was probably used here, and during the editing process masking must have been applied. Here the sounds appear to be louder and more science fiction.

Many camera shots are used for example, this close up shot is used before the point of view shot. This close up shot shows how the characters facial expressions look like as he stares at his subject.

Using editing, the shot cuts to this point of view shot. We see that the character was staring at this door which has been composed to be in the middle, as it must be very important. In contrast to the beginning of the movie, were the character had light being casted over him, this scene represents the office worker to be evil, as it tells use the audience that he is up to evil, since we see this black figure.

The lighting here is very dark and casts shadows on the characters face, which tells us that something bad is going to happen. The Medium shot, shows us his face, which appears to be evil.

As the officer worker pulls out his hand off the paper, money is recovered and the pound notes are used as props. The prop, symbolises power and this is what the office worker is represented as, hunger for money, hunger for power.

After gaining all of the money, the character goes in side the box, and the paper falls off. This is the last shot, before the credits, compared to the point of view shot were the door was shut closed. The camera then zooms out and the credits appear.

In the short film, there was barely any dialogue, not even a single work was spoken. This can be to represent the officer worker to be isolated; he is alone, therefore has no one, so therefore there is no point of communicating. The only sounds that were heard from his mouth were his breathing and grunting to show his mood and the pace of breathing.

Many types of camera shots were used, but the majority were close up shots and medium shots, these were used the most to show the characters facial expressions and attitudes towards his actions and the events that took place. Through editing we see that his appearance and mood had changed from a grumpy office worker, to an exited evil robber. In the extract, there werent that many props that the character had come in contact with, all of the props were part of the background which were there to add realism, such as the plants, fire extinguisher, computers ect. The editing starts of to be very slow through out the extract, but as the office worker discovers the black hole, the sound effects becomes more distinct, the

ambient sounds become more louder and vibrant. Throughout the end as hes stealing money, the editing is at its peak to show the rapid robbery.
