Taryn Sterling is a registered
physiotherapist who initially
practiced in Durban and Hilton
for a few years before starting
her practice in Howick four years
ago.
The practice is situated con-
veniently at the White House
Centre in Main Street, Howick
with plenty of secure parking.
The practice welcomed
Cathryn Edgcumbe in May
2006.
Cathryn practiced in Cape
Town before relocating with her
family to Howick.
Since inception, the practice
has strived to offer an excellent
standard of physiotherapy.
Physiotherapists, Taryn and

work and regularly attend con-
tinuing education courses to stay
at the forefront of advances in
the clinical practice and science
of physiotherapy.
Their treatment approach is
holistic; that is, all patients un-
dergo a thorough assessment,
which includes the patient’s
medical history and a physical
exam including orthopaedic,
muscle and neurological tests as
well as a detailed postural and
biomechanical assessment.
This is to assist in establish-
ing the source of the pain/dys-
function which may be differ-
ent from the site of the pain.
This management strategy as-
sists in preventing the recurrence
of injury.
Patients are empowered to
take control of their own condi-
tions through education and in-
dividual specific rehabilitation
programmes.
