Pharaoh Project

You are going to be doing a Pharaoh Project with a partner. You may choose your own partner, but be sure to
choose someone that you get along with and can work well with. You will be sharing ideas and creating your
entire project together.

Listed below are the tasks that you need to complete for this project. Be sure to check off each item as you
finish it, so you can be sure you have done everything required.

1. After looking over the attached list of pharaoh choices, pick a pharaoh that both you and your partner
agree upon.

2. Research your pharaoh on the internet, when we go to the computer lab, and find the following
information:
• Years ruled
• Major accomplishments (at least three)
• Setbacks (at least one)
• Pharaoh name
• Meaning of name
• Why they were important to the people of ancient Egypt
• What their crown looked like
• How the people felt about them
• Any other important information you may find

It might be a good idea to split up this information and both of you look for certain parts of it. This will
make your time in the computer lab much more productive.

3. After your research is complete, you are going to write a brief paper about your pharaoh. Your paper
needs to include all of the information that is listed above, as well as a two sentence introductory
paragraph and a two sentence conclusion paragraph. You will be graded on spelling, grammar, etc, like
always, so be sure to do spell check.

4. You will also need to create a power point presentation. You power point must include the
following:
• Bulleted highlights of all the information listed above
• A picture of your pharaoh or of a statue or drawing of your pharaoh
• Two other images that go with your pharaoh or your project, some examples may
include their crown, their sarcophagus, any sort of pictures that go along with Egypt,
etc.
• Animation schemes for each slide
• Transitions for each slide

5. You will be presenting your power point to the class, so be prepared to talk about each slide. Plan
out ahead of time which person will be talking about which slide. BE READY!!!
