Major Accomplishments
A) Building a School Shanti Primary School in Ramche -2 of Sindhupalchowk district was established in the year 2008 with the financial support of SSP and registered at District Education Office (DEO), Sindhupalchowk as a community school. The school is operating from kindergarten up to the fourth grade with around 100 Students. Currently, four teachers who have been trained in the early childhood development are teaching at the school.

SEI Nepal is also conducting a pilot teachers training program at Vishwamitra Ganesh Secondary School of Jyamirkot, Lubhu -8, Lalitpur district. The training is focused on the early childhood development and improving the capacity of the teachers to teach in English medium as per the new educational policy of the Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal. D) Volunteers SEI Nepal has provided a platform for the volunteers from different parts of the world to exchange their ideas with the students and teachers of schools in rural Nepal. The volunteers stay in the village with a host family and teach and share their experiences with the students and teachers of the school. SEI is also planning to involve urban youths to teach at community schools in our project areas. This program is intended to facilitate sharing experiences and to bridge the gap between urban and rural Nepal.

B) School Renovation Besides school construction, SEI Nepal renovates the physical infrastructure of the schools in desperate need. In 2010, Mahakali Lower Secondary School of the Maneswara VDC of Sindhupalchowk district was renovated. In early 2011, a new four-room building was built for Bhatte Primary School of Ramche - 9, Sindhupalchowk district by SEI Nepal after the old building was deemed unusable. In March 2011, SEI Nepal provided a financial grant to Vishwamitra Ganesh Secondary School of Jyamirkot, Lubhu -8, Lalitpur to build a four room building.

E) Teachers Salary SEI has provided a financial grant to support one of the teacher's salary at Mahakali Lower Secondary School of Maneswara VDC. Funding for this program was contributed by donors in Imst, Austria. Three out of the four teachers at Shanti Primary School receive their salaries through the financial support SSP.
