22nd Annual National Night of Prayer for Life

As soon as the holy Spirit overshadowed the womb of the Virgin Mother, God immediately became one of the human family. In like manner, when a child is conceived in his mothers womb, he becomes one of us. This little human being now dwells among us. So that the world may understand this truth, COME PRAY WITH US! Join us in UNITY OF PRAYER across the country in our cathedrals, churches, and chapels, highlighting Eucharistic Adoration and the Rosary. If my people...humble themselves and pray, and seek my presence and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and REVIVE THEIR LAND - 2 Chronicles 7:12 Now more than ever, America needs to invoke the intercession of our Blessed Mother!

And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us -John 1:14

December 8/9 2011 9:00 p.m. Thursday - 1:00 a.m. Friday

The Baptismal Prep Class for December and January Baptisms will be held on Monday, November 28 at 7:00 PM in Church. This class is a requirement for parents who have made arrangements to have their child baptized. Pre-registration is required.

Waiting....waiting....waiting
I have often wondered who waits for whom? I somehow remember that a guy chases a girl until she catches him. Do I wait for the Lord or is the Lord waiting for me? Is the Lord something like a little girl who hides in an obvious place like behind a branch without leaves and is all excited when found. Am I the one looking? Am I the one to be found? We have made many pilgrimages to almost all the Holy Places. The real issue is that we need to look in more obvious places. What obvious place would Jesus hide? An inn? A barn? A cave? A crib? I think we need to ask the question about ourselves. Where and how do we hide? Under piles of work? Busy, busy, busy? In the yard? I could focus on any of those. I choose to speak about hiding behind past hurts or wounds. Wounded wolves, they tell me, hide in a corner. They howl and bark to protect the wound. If you approach, the howl becomes fiercer and more angry. The fierce anger, in the mind of the wolf, hides the wound. No one can get near it! I see God hiding behind a leafless branch excited at the opportunity of being found, and we are hiding behind our bark and growl. No one can come near. So, how do we come together? In our fair or unfair bark, we wait and wait and wait. Like the tantrum of a spoiled child, we have to wait it out and see the branch. The Lord is there all along, still excited about being found. All of our prayer is not a denial of our wounds. Our prayer is an invitation to take the risk and find a new way of healing the pain by looking behind the branch. Help to make this Advent a prayerful time of waiting to see who finds whom? Would you not wait so that the Lord might meet you? by Fr Seher

THANKS A MILLION!
The Womens Care Center would like to thank all St. Alberts parishioners who donated to our recent baby bottle collection at the parish. The total amount collected to date is $7,450. We are so pleased with your response and are very blessed by your generosity! You have hearts of gold, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. What a wonderful way to celebrate God's gift of life! We are deeply grateful to your pastor, Fr. Michael Zoufal, and to Bernadette Strezo, pro-life coordinator, for all their support and leadership in this event. Because of your sacrifices large and small, Womens Care Center will be able to help save babies' lives and give their moms and dads in crisis the moral support and medical and material assistance they need. May the Lord of Life bless you for caring for His littlest ones!

Eyeglasses Collection Drive

Over the years, the number of children in need of optical assistance has increased by a substantial amount. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 1.2 million children within developing countries have become visually impaired from the lack of obtaining proper eyewear. The following situation may then prohibit these children in engaging certain activities or even lead a more fulfilling lifestyle. So instead of cluttering the landfills, your old eyeglasses can sufficiently and radical improve another life! PLEASE help to contribute by donating your unwanted or damaged eyeglasses into the charity box located at the back of the church!
All proceeds will go to the Illinois College of Optometry. Thank you for your support! Martin Kurczak
