CMS Manual
Overview
CMS components include Datacenter, NVR, Digital Matrix, Streaming Proxy, DDNS, Advanced Unit and Transaction Proxy servers. All descriptions to the components refer to CMS Servers.
Datacenter
Datacenter assumes intensively the system data management and setup as an important database module in whole system. Datacenter as the most important role in system helps the customers with building up the network wished, centralized managing and global configuring the system data, which effects importantly on safety, reliability and availability of the whole system.
Run
1. Run Datacenter.exe from the folder programs installation and Windows Start folder to startup the dialogue Datacenter service control, and click the button Start, as shown below.
3. Datacenter successfully startup, the status as shown below. Note: When the item Auto run when the
system startup at the bottom of the dialogue selected, the service will automatically run after OS startup.

4. Click on the button Setup to popup the dialogue Database maintenance, which server as data backup, restore and update to database routinely, as shown below.
5. After finishing all operations and settings, click on the button OK to minimize the dialogue to run in the background, as shown below.
Configuration
1. Run IE browser or other 3rd-party internet browsers, and then type the valid IP address or domain name into the address field, as shown below.
Click on the link Download to download and install the ActiveX Control. File Download Window will popup, as shown below.
Click on the button Save to save the AX control onto the assigned path. After waiting for the end of download processing, run the executable file TCVideo.exe to execute the installation, as shown below.
Note: At the first the AX control installation must be required while entering the management pages,
or else some important features would not normally work.
3. After finishing the AX control installation, click on the link Enter to enter the setup pages on the home page, as shown below.

Input valid user name and password into the relative fields, and then click OK. Note: Default user name is Supervisor, and password is null. 4. After logon succeed, enter the main page of CMS, as shown below.
Interpretation: Region1 include the navigation buttons for each management module, such as Organization, Device List, Live View, Video files, Digital Matrix, Image files and Event Info etc.. Region2 display current logon user name. Region3 include 3 buttons, Favorite Groups, Modify Password and Switch User in order

CMS Settings
Functions:
Define video device and component servers Snapshot and I/O settings Global user management Sub-Datacenter management
Components:
1. Video Proxy Define IP address, Port (default 8003), User name (default Supervisor), Password (default null) and Description (user-defined) for proxy server. 2. DDNS Define DDNS(Dynamical Domain Name Server) name, IP address, Com port(default 8004) and DNS port(default 54) 3. Transaction Proxy Define Name (user-defined), IP address, Port (default 8005), User name (default Supervisor), Password (default null) and Description (user-defined) for transaction proxy server. 4. Define Video Devices a) Define Video Servers Define Name (user-defined), Type, IP address, Port, Channel number, User name, Password, Location and Description etc.

Active: Enable or disable the current defined server. Time Sync: Selected to sync the system clock of the current defined server and clock sync server (Advanced Unit). Video Proxy: Selected to use video proxy to connect the current defined server. Command Proxy: Selected to use command proxy to connect the current defined server. Switch Datacenters: Switch to other Datacenters to sync and manage. Data Retrieving: Retrieve data info from the selected Datacenter. Sync: Synchronize the parameters (Channel amount and name) from the current selected channels with the on-site. More: Define how many Alarm-Ins/Outs to be used, the index number of video channel linked to voice chat, alarm-in triggered to voice chat, voice chat enabled/disabled, stream continuity priority (default real-time priority). Alarm Actions: Define whether to respond to the events from video channels and sensors on video server, and it is equated with local settings on client. For the details refer to Responding to video server at the rear parts. Copy To: Copy the related setting parameters of the selected servers to other servers. Get Online Devices: Click to get and list up all the online devices that can be discovered. Video Channels: List all video channels from highlighted server, which are set on alarm response, stream rate and alarm voice alert. Alarm Inputs: List all alarm inputs from highlighted server, the descriptions of which might be defined by user.

Alarm Outputs: List all alarm outputs from highlighted server, the descriptions of which might be defined by user. b) Camera Group Capable of distributing the video channels from the different video servers into each logical camera group, and even more defining numerous multi-layer groups.
Define group name, description and to enable/disable switching in groups with a user-defined interval (Sec.). Drag and drop the video channels under the server list into the camera groups from right to left. 5. Define Matrix a) Define Matrix Servers Define Name (user-defined), IP address, Port (default 8002), Output amount, User name (default Supervisor and Password (default null) for the matrix servers.

Interpretation: Region1 Matrix Servers List All defined Matrix Servers are listed out, and the output amount
of which will be listed out through expanding the server nodes.
Region2 Public Views List New, rename and delete the public views. Region3 Tools Select the various patterns of symbols to present the public view layout. Projecting Public View: At first, select a favorite TV icon from Tools bar, and then expand a node of Matrix Servers tree under to outputs-level, and then drag an output icon and drop into the displaying region of public view layout. 6. Others a) Snapshot Setup Define all titles, mnemonic codes and whether to be mandatory items for client program to snapshot and upload the shooting groups into Datacenter. Expand the server list to show the output interfaces at the left, and define all related descriptions and to enable/disable.
7. Global User Manager a) Add/Delete/Modify User Define/Modify user name, password, full name, description, level, subordination and whether to permit multi-login and disable current user.
b) Authority Manager Define all global authorities to user, including Datacenter, Video Device and Client.

8. Datacenters Manager Modify name and description of local Datacenter, and retrieve the information from other remote Datacenters.
Note: Click New, and then input Datacenter name and description and all other required right
information, and then click Save to setup a new mapping from remote. You can use Sync to synchronize data with remote datacenters, and also Delete to delete the local mappings.

Device Manager
Functions:

Click New button to setup a new public view, and select a screen icon from Tools bar, and drag and drop the outputs from matrix server list onto layout area. 3. Matrix Control
Click Public View button located at the title bar to enter Matrix Control panel, and then select a pubic view from the public view dropdown. Drag and drop the channels from video server list onto the cells you wish. When connecting succeeds, the cells populated will present yellow color. If you drag and drop a server node or multiple channels onto a cell, all connected channels will be populated into a continuous sequence of cells in yellow color. Note: Also use the button to populate the selected channels into the cells. Group Switch: Select a cell you wish display camera group, and click the button Start Group

Switch, and select one or multiple camera groups to populate the cells in blue color when connecting completed. Note: If you select multiple camera groups, the connected camera groups will be populated into a
continuous sequence of cells with the current selected cell as the first one. When you need pause a group switch, please select the cell you want and click the button revert group switching. , and click the button to
Connection Scheme: After finishing all channel and group connections, click the button Save Connection Scheme to type a name in the field of scheme and save the layout of current all connections as a scheme. Click the button Load Connection Scheme to load a saved layout scheme to display.
Connection Controls: Tick the checkbox Video to open video displaying window at the left of the bottom. Click Disconnect to stop the video connection at the current selected cell. Click Disconnect All to stop all video connections. Note: When you need clear a group switching in a cell, please select the cell, and then click the button Stop Group Switch to clear. Status Hint: When the mouse cursor is moved over a populated cell, a tooltip will popup and display the related information, such as the connected channel name, description, IP address, port and server source.
Image Files
Functions:
Uniform and centralized searching the image groups snapshot from all clients through time/date, title and keyword. Be capable of modifying, deleting and printing image groups and related information in predefined format. 1. Snapshot Setup Please refer to the chapter Snapshot Setup. 2. Image Files

Storage Center
Storage Center is an important role of Unisight enterprise surveillance solution platform, which executes centralized archiving for the recording data from various on-site IP devices. Support recording video channels max up to 256ch.
Initialization
Enter Windows programs folder to start Video Device Initialization shortcut under the folder Unisight Softwares.
1. Select NVR Operating Mode Click the button Device type define to select NVR operating mode from the dialogue Device type selection. a) Only DVS and IP camera: Without any video capture board installed on server select Embedded or IP Devices. b) Hybrid: With video capture board and IP device both installed on server select one type of all video capture boards from supported hardware manufacturers. For the selection items about all supported hardware manufacturers, please refer to the related appendix.

2. Manually Define IP Device Properties Select an item from pre-defined IP device list located at the left of the dialogue and then complete all properties settings as follow: a) Address: Fill out IP address of network video device. b) Port: Fill out port number of network video device. c) Device type: Select the type of network video device from the drop-down box. For the selection items about all supported hardware manufacturers, please refer to the related appendix. d) Description: Add the description to network video device. e) Login name: Fill out user name to login. f) Password: Fill out password for login user. g) Total channel: Fill out the channel number from video device to add to server. h) Sensor number: Fill out number of sensor from video device to add to server. i) Main-stream URL: Fill out main-stream request command, and activated Only under RTSP or HTTP selection item. j) Sub-stream URL: Fill out sub-stream request command, and activated Only under RTSP or HTTP selection item. For the details about stream request command description, please refer to the related appendix. k) Proxy: Select proxy server from the drop-down box. Note: If need to use proxy server, please in advance click the button Proxy setup>> to enter Proxy server information dialogue to add and edit proxy servers. Tick the check box Use data proxy or Use video proxy, or both, to enable proxy server selected. For more details about Proxy server, refer to the related contents in manual. l) Clock sync: Tick this checkbox to synchronize video device with server system clock automatically. m) Disable this server: Tick this checkbox to disable the current video device temporarily. n) Clear: Click to clear all settings about the current video device 3. Automatically Define IP Device Properties If the video devices needed to add to server can support Auto-discovery, the video devices will be indexed out under video device list at the right of the dialogue. Double click the items indexed out automatically to add some related properties into Define video device properties area and continue filling out information left to finish adding device. a) All online devices: Tick this checkbox to reveal all network devices in LAN, which include all IP video devices, PCs and routers. b) Discover device: Click to run searching device. c) Get CMS device info>>: Retrieve the device info from remote Datacenter. Click to popup the dialogue CMS information, and type in Datacenter address, port, login name and password. d) Save: Save all setups and close the dialogue.

Digital Matrix
Digital Matrix Server is responsible for decoding compressed video stream and outputting into public view, by which you might easily and freely realize setting and controlling.
Run
Run DigitalMatrix.exe to enter Digital Matrix control panel. Select one of decoding devices from Device type dropdown, and click the button Start to startup the service. When the service startup succeeds, click OK to dismiss the dialogue. As shown below.
Note: When you tick the check box Auto run when OS startup, Digital Matrix Service will
automatically run after OS startup.
Device type: The types UNI-HIK, UNI-HB and Net Device need the related hardware supporting. The type VGA/DVI only needs to use VGA/DVI socket from display card as video output.
Configuration
Click the button Setup>> in Digital Matrix control panel to enter matrix server setup window, and input user name and password (Default Supervisor and null) to logon. Note: When you select the different type of decoding device, setup window might include the different settings. Select UNI-HIK as an example below. 1. Matrix Server Setup Select the item Matrix Server Running Parameter to display all settings to matrix server. a) Display Size Define display resolution in monitor, and include 2 resolution selections, CIF and 4CIF. b) Merge Decoding Channels By default, a 4chs decoding board with 4 video outputs is capable of decoding four 4CIF images in total, which is able to decode max up to one 4CIF image on one output. If need to output two 4CIF images via No.1 video output, 2 Combined must be selected to combine the capability of two channels and guarantee two 4CIF images being

decoded smoothly via one video output. c) Merge Display Channels Combine video outputs to control video output resource. For example, If you select 2 Combined to a 4 video outputs decoding board, only No. 1 and 3 video output could output video onto monitor.
d) Screen Division Selection For each monitor select screen division displaying mode, which include 1, 4, 7, 8, 10, 13 and 16 etc., 7 modes in total. e) DDNS Add the IP address, port (Default 53), user name and password of Domain Name Server, which provide DDNS service for matrix server. 2. User Manager Manage the user accounts to matrix server. 3. System Information Inspect the information about hardware and environment of matrix server. 4. System Logs Search and print system log information on matrix server by time/date and type. 5. Device Status Monitor real-time system information, such as CPU, memory, hard drive and network flux usages etc., as well remotely shut down/start up the server. 6. Update/Submit Update and retrieving setting data from on-site server, and submit current defined data to on-site server.

Operation
For the all details about how to operate matrix server, please refer to the related descriptions in the chapters Server, Client and Datacenter.
Streaming Proxy
Video Proxy is responsible of multiple transmitting data and video stream on Unisight platform, by which the entire system can efficiently control network bandwidth usage and avoid the bottleneck appearance with on-site video device, thereby improve pressing-proof of capability.
Run
1. Run Gateway.exe from the folder of Windows programs or Unisight Softwares installation to enter Streaming proxy control panel. As shown below. for startup completed. As shown below.
Note: If you need to stop the service, please to click the button Stop to stop it. When the item Auto run when the system startup 2. Click the button Start to start up Streaming proxy service. Wait a moment
at the bottom of the dialogue selected, the service will automatically run after OS startup.

Click the button New for sub streaming proxy server to define name, IP address, port (Default 8003), user name and password (Default Supervisor and null), and then click the button Save to save the settings. Click Submit to submit all settings. Support adding multiple sub streaming proxy servers, and only select one as default. Note: Once a sub streaming proxy server is selected as Default Streaming Proxy, by default
all video devices will be connected through data streaming from sub to current streaming proxy. As a connection link shown below.

server. You can continue add more video servers, which need to be specially assigned to other streaming proxy servers except default one. When all settings are completed, click Submit to submit all settings. c) DDNS

DDNS
DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Service) is responsible of building the links among all on-site devices, servers and clients, which can help you with using a cost-efficient built-in utility without 3rd-party fee-for-service for your all applications.

1. Run DDNS.exe from the folder of Windows programs or Unisight Softwares installation to enter Dynamic domain name server control panel. As shown below.
Note: If you need to stop the service, please to click the button Stop to stop it. When the item Auto run when the system startup
at the bottom of the dialogue selected, the service will automatically run after OS startup.
2. Click the button Start to start up DDNS service. Wait a moment for startup completed. As shown below.
Configuration
After the service startup is completed, click the button Setup>> to enter DDNS service setup window. 1. Remote Setup Input IP address and port (Default 8004) to define a father Dynamic Domain Name Server.

System Logs Search and print system log information on Dynamic Domain Name Server by time/date and type. 5. Device Status Monitor real-time system information, such as CPU, memory, hard drive and network flux usages etc., as well remotely shut down/start up the server.
Transaction Proxy
Transaction Proxy is responsible of transmitting the data from POS system to DVR, which can link the events from transactions with the corresponding video footages by the means of text overlay and event searching.
Run

POS data source. You can add multiple POS data sources into the list. As shown below.
b) Video Devices Click the button New and input server name, IP address, port, channel amount, user name and password to define the video devices. Note: If you are using Unisight Enterprise, you might as well add the defined video devices
direct from Datacenter manager.
c) Relation Setup Drag and drop or click the button to move POS device items from POS device list into video channel list to relate the video channels from video devices with POS devices. After finishing all settings, click the button Submit to submit all settings.

to be adjusted through the predefined Datacenter and execute time synchronization to the advanced unit Server as a reference periodically based on predefined interval.
