TAREA

Día 1:

1) Read p 46 in text. Note similarities between English and Spanish cognates. If possible,
record yourself pronouncing 5 of the cognates relevant to your field of work.

a. Look at alphabet on p 45, and listen to audio CD to alphabet/word pronunciations.


Practice pronunciation. NOTE: focus on vowel sounds! Be able to spell out your
name. Listen to “tú nombre” STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO SPELL OUT
WORDS ON TEST (out loud)

2) Introduce yourself to 3 people at work. Find out their first and last names, and what they
are, i.e. “enfermera, doctor, etc. ”

3) Write down some things at work you want to learn how to say

4) Preview parts of the body for “team quiz”

5) Review and study verbs estar and sentir for take home quiz (will be given to you class
two)

OPTIONAL:
1) Listen to the track “estar” and “El cuerpo

Día 2:

1) Quiz #1 take home quiz Parts of the body and “ESTAR”


2) Review and study the verbs “estar & sentir.”
3) Review parts of the body
a. 50-51 parts of the body/ APPENDICES
4) Practice alphabet
STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO SPELL OUT WORDS ON TEST (out loud)
5) Read text pg 47 and listen to the medical history track on the cd to do activity A on pg 47.
6) Pg 42 “tener” homework
7) Listen to “TPR 1-3” to review class vocabulary
8) Listen to track 18 “Doler”

Día 3

1) Take health survey on pg 40,


2) Think about your own medical history… Listen to the text tape and write down on a
separate piece of paper what you would answer if you were answering the doctor’s
questions.
3) (Quiz next class) Written & Oral (Be able to take a medical history of a patient)
4) Ask your instructor to email you the “Días de la semana” power point and study it!
5) Review and study the verbs “estar,” “tener,” “doler,” body organs/parts
question words/vocabulary

Día 4

1) Study commands- Listen to track “Mandatos.”


2) Look up and write down 3 verbs from www.wordreference.com or a Spanish dictionary
that you think are important to your daily job.
3) Use these new verbs with words/phrases you know like “voy a…” to create 3 sentences.
Next class you teach the class your new verbs. (See “POWER VERBS” page in back of
book)
4) Start looking at numbers- Listen to the track “Los numeros” and begin to do pages 36-38
(won’t be checked until day 7)

Día 5

1) Quiz #4 next class on commands, directions, points of reference, los numeros


2) Text p 35 ex 6
3) Text p 43 on directions
4) Review 37, 38 (last class’s homework)
5) Text 39 (optional)

Día 6

1) REVIEW all material FOR FINAL EXAM: will be written and oral
2) Look at the Verb Charts in back of book for help with verbs
3) Practice with a friend once before next class- Medical History

Dia 7

1) Email answers to your take home final to your teacher


2) Start looking through your book and try to do some of the activities we didn’t finish in
class
3) Keep your cd in your car and use it to keep up with what you have learned
4) PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE- don’t let feeling “silly” get in the way of your
communicating!
5) SIGN UP FOR SPANISH FOR NURSES LEVEL TWO CLASS!
