Each file that users choose to back up from a PC is copied to the S Series.
If users ever lose one of the original files on their PC, they can easily restore it
from the backup version in the S Series. Samsung Auto Backup software is
offered to keep users important data safe just in case. It supports either
real-time or scheduling mode. When a file or a folder are modified or added,
the change is saved in real time. Meanwhile, the scheduling mode regularly
executes backup functions based on selected frequencies (month, day, hour,
minute). When using Samsung Auto Backup, SafetyKey can work to
enhance data security by setting a password.

By incorporating a USB controller within a

conventional hard drive, Samsungs S Series
has a smaller case footprint than competing
external hard drives. The USB on-board
technology also reduces the drives weight

or designated as backup storage.

It is a feature that improves data security to prevent non-permitted access to a

users important content. SecretZone is the name of a virtual drive that
provides encryption of personal files and folders for data security. Therefore,
users just drag and drop their private files and folders into the virtual drive to
protect them from access by others.
Without a password, nobody will even see the existence of the virtual drive in
the Windows My Computer folder. The applied technologies are AES-128/AES256/BLOWFISH-448 bit algorithm.
