The Former Republican Committeeman Switches to the Dark Side

We must come together as leaders within our community to help promote our ideas and values that cross not just party lines, but all economic and social boundaries. By working together we can help each other face these difficult economic times that have reached across our city, state. Our great nation complicated by the historic high unemployment and foreclosure rates across the country - we all must ask: Why are current political leaders not showing citizens a full-hearted commitment to solving problems as they have in days past? Have their core values changed? Their ideas no longer fit with the times? Whats happened to the actual party of which they have claimed to be willing participating members for years? Or is it just that they are fed up with the lack of commitment from the leadership within the organization? We as trusted members of our party must push for diversity and equality overall. We must demand higher standards from elected officials and remind them that government is a servant of the people the people are not servant to government. We must prove to the citizens within our community that we plan to continue to promote the stability and certainty of our commitment to them. This cannot be accomplished if a leader leaves their post, only to run as a representative of another organization. We have heard that actions speak greater than mere words. In this case, the action has spoken. I can find no words to describe this action. I believe that strong leadership comes from being engaged within the community, not just a title obtained from living in that community. One must be willing to reach out and partner with all, not exclusively the people that are within their sphere of influence. A true public servant works tirelessly to find common ground and determine how they can make your life better - not how to use their position to promote and enrich themselves alone. The ability to work with the total population, from all walks of life, building a strong and safe community for everyone is to be applauded. With this strong foundation, their organization becomes a vital source of information for the community and the magnetic force that unifies neighborhoods. As a result, the group grows and thrives not only from political affiliation, but as a result of contagious can-do attitude and willingness to be a servant for all the people, in the community, state and nation. The former 27th Ward Committeeman has proved his true colors. I ask you - did Custer run when faced with an overwhelming force? No. He fought side by side with like-minded men. We the GOP have a great history of many leaders who have shown compassion as great as Lincolns, the foresight to bring our nation back to greatness as Grant, Roosevelts toughness/tenacity in beliefs and ideas, along with the great insight of growth and renewal of pride for our country found with Reagan as dawn broke on the 21 century. We need to demand improvement in the respect of rights for all men/women; continue to strive for smaller government involvement, along with the lowering of taxes imposed by government; support stronger community input from local leadership to empower the people that we serve. I am proud to say WE ARE THE GOP. We are Grand, We are Open, and are Proud to be in the GOP. Frederick Collins Republican Committeeman Chicago 27th Ward
