I AUGERAL MA ILA SMUT IGHT OVEMBER 6TH

Well it was a combination of our SMUT group and that of the Philippine Railway Historical Society who meet in Manila (Philippines, as opposed to the Northern NSW town with two ls in its name). Modellers Group

Attending from Australia were MrX, MrPecker and myself, with a local contingent including Karel, Roberto, Mark and Phil. Between us, a very interesting selection of train and plane models of varying types and sizes.

Catching up with the local aviation (or Avnormals as they say) fans and modellers in Pasay City.

HEATHCOTE SMUT IGHT OVEMBER 26TH

It has been a awful long time since any SMUT activity has taken place in our satellite rooms down at Heathcote. A major whoopsie by a coal train a little further south meant no train action, of any consequence anyway, was to take place and as such more modelling than normal was achieved. Possibly hampered a little by the regular supply of Bundy beverages from the Terry collection. We were delighted to have the attendance of a new member of our very small group, with Corrimals #1 son Shane Johnson coming along to see hat we get up to and if all the rumours are true. He also scored a free HO scale GM for his trouble :-) Terry busied himself with a refrigerator van after about an hour of frustration trying to locate some hatches for it. Brad continued the slow task of trying to get some sort of coal hoppers together for a fictitious layout based on the SMR, while he also made a start on converting some cheap American tanker into something far more closely resembling one from the Philippines - hes other project. Colonel was very busy assisting the sugarcane farmers in the Bundaberg district.

Some of Tezzas planes. Investigating how best to convert to a Philippine TC tanker.

^ - Terrys plane collection certainly caused some excitement among attendees. < - So many pieces - so little time. Checking out the coal hopper situation.
We were obviously soon distracted by a very lovely visitor. Modelling? What modelling? > Two shots to the left show work progressing on Tezzas Rockdale layout and a drawing of the ultimate track < layout. Oh yes, did I mention our visitor? >

Terry is relieved to have found the missing roof hatches and settles down for an evening of model refrigerator van construction, with a sausage and adobo intermission. > Oh yeah, thats right, I nearly forgot to mention our special visitor above.
