THE 2011 Greenpower Endurance racing series drew to a close at the National Finals at Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit in Sussex on the 16th October. The Aberteifi Tigers Racing team from Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi clinched 8th place from a packed, 75 car grid, winning the Best Newcomer award for the highest placed novice team. The team, comprised of 10 boys and girls, performed faultlessly over the 4 hour race performing 3 battery changes and 4 driver changes which saved valuable time in the pits. The teams practice and
preparation leading up to the race meant the car was in tip-top shape mechanically with the gearing choice for the race spot on. This is a prestigious race where selected school teams compete against University and
Corporate teams like Jaguar Land-Rover, Citroen and Bentley. During the day a range of Judges interviewed the team about the car and how it was designed and made.
