method(s) was employed by the researchers? Was this appropriate for the
population and the research question? Were there limitations to this method?
This article is actually portions of five other articles that have been put together because of their
relevance on the topic of Latino experiences and life chances. There are limitations within this
research project because there is not a lot of previous work done on these studies. There are very
few longitudinal studies that are available publicaly. There are also very few bi-national data sets
that researchers could use to compare the United States with other nations. There is a need for
incorporating qualitative and quantitative data collection approaches in order to give researchers a
better understanding of the Latino experience.
