Bicol College COLLEGE OF NURSING Daraga, Albay

Course Code: NCM 106 Course Description: Care of Clients with in Inflammatory and Immunologic Disorders Units: Time: 1:00-5:00 General Course Objectives: Successful completion of this course will promote the general student learning outcomes listed below. The student will be able to:
1. Describe the general concepts of disease processes and factors associated with

disease causation.
2. Identify the function of basic cellular structures, determining the sequelae of

selected cellular malfunctions.

3. Describe the responses of the body to injury and immunologic challenge. 4. Discuss the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment modalities of frequently

occurring diseases. Specific Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
1. Describe and understand the common diseases and disorders of the human

body systems.
2. Discuss the pathophysiologic changes that occurs as a result of cellular injury. 3. Analyze the role of the immune system in disease processes. 4. Describe the pathophysiologic changes that occur in selected disease processes 5. 6. 7. 8.

for each body system. Correlate the cellular and system changes that occur in selected disease processes with common presenting clinical manifestations. Define the common treatment modalities and procedures associated with various disease processes. List the categories of pathogenic organisms and the effects these organisms have on the human body. Describe events related to common disorders, major disease processes, and outline the inflammatory response events.
