It can be hard to be in a position not to be your acolyte. While it is my responsibility in this job to remain impartial as much as is possible on political matters I don't want to be silent when important work is done. Rollie I do think your effort on Prop 103 was nothing short of heroic. The conversation advanced the point even if the vote was unsuccessful. I am and always will remain a huge Rollie Heath fan and you should know in many ways I've chosen to model my own second act in professional life after your own. You're a good friend and a great mentor. Thank you for all that you do for me and for Colorado.

Thanks for your comments. You're right, we need to find a better way to fund our schools. Rollie In a message dated 11/2/2011 9:25:05 AM. Mountain Daylight Time, cbmalby@yahoo.com writes:

Senator Rollie Heath, First of all I would like to thank you for your effort to fund education. Although, this proposition did not pass I am hopeful it can keep the discussion going so a solution can be found. After fmding out that Proposition 103 failed today I have been thinking about other ways we can fund Education in Colorado. Maybe a website could be put up to make it easily accessible for individuals and corporations to make direct donations to fund education in Colorado (K-12, Higher education). Something like (donatetocoloradoeducation.gov). Make it a place where people can invest in education. Give teaches resources they need in classrooms. Build more need based scholarships for higher education ... Whatever issues pertaining to education that are important to people. The issue of of accesses to education is an important issue to me. I hope we can move forward from here and fmd solutions. Thank You, Cameron malby

This was truly a disappointment. Nothing that anyone could have done would have changed the outcome. Tharl<s for your help and SLpport. Rollie Rollieddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd, In a message dated 11/212011 5:40:22 P.M. MOl.ntain Daylight Time, boulderkrolls@gmail.comwr"es: Hi Ricard, I recall receiving a post card during the election period by what was a cohort of concerned civic groups saying BE SURE TO VOTE as Boulder's last election (2010) was decided according to the card by ONLY 30% of those eligible to vote. With only 25,000 voting in the City of Boulder - the turnout percentage in 2011 is EVEN LESS.
In most analyses, as you reduce the size of the voting cohort the turnout leans towards a more older voter and a more "conservative" and "cautious" electorate results.

Our Bauder Daily Camera did not appear to have a Measure 103 by Boulder County or County by County results. Did it win anywhere? Close? What is the impact of the "voter suppression" moves by some government officials (mostly or all GOP as far as I know) on how many eligible voters DID NOT get MAIL IN BALLOTS from prior years? How many 100's, 1000's or 10,000's of
voters where treated as a distinct class of voter and had extra obstacles to voting ?

Would the outcome of 103 have been different had we had the turnout as was the case in 2008 ? Meanwhile, in City of Boulder how does an elected member of the City Council assume authority to lead when they are seated with the actual votes of ONE out of NINE or TEN residents of the City of Boulder
in a citywide contested election? Is this some kind of beauty contest or what? Concerned in Colorado,

I'm disappointed that the voters rejected it but you showed leadership on the issue, something lacking in the governor's office.
