Making a montage for a CD cover
1 Open a new document FILE > NEW

Edit size to 12 cm by 12 cm
Resolution 300 dpi (inches)

2 Next choose and open a background image

3 Use move tool to drag it into blank document (close original image)

4 To change size of copied image EDIT > FREE TRANSFORM and drag corners to

5 Now open an image to place on background and use move tool to drag across

6 add a frame using stroke EDIT > STROKE

change pixels to around 30, colour to white and select inside.

7 Transform scale and rotate EDIT > FREE TRANSFORM



To rotate point cursor outside bounding box and drag
NOTE: make sure you have correct layer selected

8. Now click on layer style at bottom of layer palette (looks like an f)


Select drop shadow change sliders size and distance and ok

9. REPEAT 5 - 8 WITH TWO MORE IMAGES

9 Use move tool with options at top switched to auto select layer
Then arrange images to suit

10 Next add text select font tool (marked by a T)



Click where you want to start typing - type any title.
then drag over text to change font, style, colour etc. with options at top.
Confirm text by clicking tick at top or click on move tool
Repeat for a sub title at bottom.
