PRESS RELEASE
Lindsey C. Holmes,
WASHINGTON, DC, 11/30/2011 - A few months ago, CEO/ Lead Strategist, LCH Business SM & Tech, Lindsey C. Holmes was a featured panelist at The Newseum! The Internet Innovation Alliance (IIA), a foremost authority on universal broadband adoption and closing the Digital Divide, held a symposium at the museum entitled Our Wireless Future: Realizing Deployment of Next Generation Broadband Services and Applications to All of America. Recognizing her passion for and thought leadership in Broadband, Technology, Social Media/ Web 2.0, and most importantly, closing the gap in minority and women adoption of all three, the IIA has requested her support as an IIA Broadband Ambassador in their campaign to promote the importance of broadband as a means to enhance economic development across all demographics, promote quality of life through broadband-enabled applications, and ultimately eliminate the Digital Divide. The IIA Broadband Ambassador Program enlists the participation of notable Internet executives, elected officials, academics and real Americans across a broad spectrum of fields such as health care, education, business and technology to help stress the critical importance of every American having access to broadband and its many benefits and to promote equal opportunity for universal broadband availability and adoption. Ms. Holmes has happily accepted the opportunity, noting the importance of demonstrating diversity in opportunities like this [the IIA Broadband Ambassador Program], simply because people tend to go where they feel comfortable. If minorities, if women are excluded from positions, especially visible positions in tech, we wont feel welcomed in tech. Its such a simple concept, but seeing someone that looks like you, in a field that you could possibly have interest in, can make the difference. Sometimes its that simple. We can then start urging minorities and women into Social Media, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields, and innovation in general.
Watch out for some stellar joint projects with IIA and LCH in the very near future!
