TECHNICAL PRODUCTION

Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre & Events (CUE30203) Certificate IV in Live Production, Theatre & Events (CUE40303)

Also known as Technical Theatre Operations the college offers Certificate III and Certificate IV options that will give you practical theatre environment experience working in all aspects of preparing and operating a show, from prop-making and set construction, to setting up the shows staging, lights and sound equipment and operating the show. The courses provide full-time tuition over 2 semesters in a variety of aspects of technical theatre and event presentation. A broad range of skills are developed including lighting, sound and staging. These courses are run in association with the colleges extens ive theatre production schedule and provide opportunities to work with a number of professional practitioners and visiting industry directors in a professional environment.

Industry Placements Graduates of the Certificate III and IV in Live Production, Theatre and Events are in demand as lighting and sound operators on many theatre productions and to work as technicians at a range of venues. During the course, students are given the opportunity to accept a secondment to an organisation including theatres and conference venues. Study consists of attendance at regularly scheduled production tutorials / workshops, a variety of practical exercises, rehearsals; supervised administrative activities, production meetings and performances, tours and on-site visits to a range of facilities and venues and up to two weeks on secondment/work experience.

Easy Payment Options Available We recognise that not everyone can afford to pay up front and in-full so we have an easy-pay option available to suit the individual needs of our domestic students. All full time courses are approved by Centrelink for Austudy/ Abstudy or Youth Allowance. Withdrawal and Refund Policy The ACTT withdrawal/refund policy is based on mutual commitment for the duration of your course. Deposits paid to secure a place are non-refundable and include a $500 annual admin fee. Once a course commences, refunds are only available in exceptional circumstances. Quality Assurance ACTT has been in operation since 1992 and is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that satisfies the national standards of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Most full time courses are listed on CRICOS also making them available to overseas students. The courses are accredited by ASQA, and the technical qualifications are drawn from the National Entertainment Training Package. ACTT is a member of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET), the peak industry association for independent providers of education and training for Australian and International students.
