Omelet Supreme This story starts at Big Bang X 3-20 seconds.

At which time the fate of the world had been set and LAR (a name I have given to a specific particle) had been created. Approximately 500 million years later, iron and nickel were coalescing into a core about which this planet would form. Though LAR and many nearby particles had been part of the "core building" particles, solar turbulence carried them to an orbital position towards the edge of the cloud. Put into this distant orbit, these still forming materials would become, not part of the Earth's core, but of its mantle and crust. A bit after this coalescing began (say five million years or so) a lady named Barbara Lansing was supervising the excavation of iron ore in a country known as the United States. Not only did she supervise the excavation of the ore, she also supervised and scheduled the transfer of this ore to railroad cars. On the particular day we are talking about, one of the scoops of iron ore being transferred included LAR. When all the cars were loaded, they were assembled into a train. This train then proceed along various tracks to an iron smelting plant. At the smelter the ore was crushed then heated to a temperature (app. 1550 deg C) which caused the melting and consequent separation of iron from the remainder of the ore material. This liquid iron was then poured into molds to solidify. The solidified iron, referred to as " pig-iron" was then sent to another smelter for further processing. This processing involved melting the ingots then adding various mineral and chemical components to create other metals, such as common steel. Steel is used in many applications, often with few or no further changes to its chemical composition. It may be formed into rails or wheels for ore carrying train cars, or perhaps rolled into thin sheets from which children's toys are made. LAR however ended up in a batch of steel that was destined for further processing. The steel in which LAR resided was once more liquefied. To this liquid steel was added small amounts of: carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, nickel and molybdenum to create what is classified as "316 Stainless Steel". After fifteen more steps of processing, a small portion of this steel had been turned into a delightful eight inch frying pan. This pan is now hanging on the equally delightful pot rack of a home in Portland Oregon. A fair to middling distance from LAR's place and time of creation. I have been able to tell the story of LAR because this morning while using my favorite omelet pan, LAR was transferred from the pan to the omelet. From there it was of course transferred to my stomach where it was yet again processed, this time becoming part of a protean molecule. The molecule containing LAR then became a component of my synaptic system. With this assimilation of LAR into my own body, it's personal history, from inception to the present, became a part of my own history and memories.
