CAREER OBJECTIVE My interests lie in the realm of audio signal processing, particularly in audio console design and audio effects. Digital signal processing has encompassed the digital world, and it is my aim to work in such an area where I can fully utilize its potential in making the best systems in audio engineering. I wish to enhance my professional skills and continue learning by working in a challenging environment. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS MSc Acoustics and Music Technology from University of Edinburgh, UK B-Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering from SCMS College, India Developed a physical model of a Sitar for MSc Dissertation, involving mathematical simulations in Matlab & C. Core foundation in Digital signal processing, Acoustics, audio effects and physical modeling.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS MSc. Thesis-Physical Model of a Sitar in MATLAB using Finite Difference Scheme The project focused on the study of string acoustics in a Sitar, and to apply these acoustics in creating a physical model. The model was made in MATLAB using finite difference scheme. The acoustics of the sitar is based on string vibration, wherein the string collides nonlinearly with a curved surface at one end, called the Jawari. It is primarily this reason that gives the sitar a ringing sound (creation of overtones). The model was successfully able to simulate such a non-linear interaction, and produce an output in the form of a plucked string sound. Audio Exertion-Haptic Elbow Patches A group project in which haptic elbow patches were developed that could control various parameters of synthesized sound. The project involved a combination of sound design and electronics; the sound design was done using Max MSP, while the elbow patches were connected using microcontrollers. Bend sensors inside the elbow patches detect changes in position (when bent) and send signals to a microcontroller called an arduino, which can be linked directly to MaxMSP Each patch corresponds to a change in one parameter, such as pitch, velocity, modulation etc. when two or more patches are bent together, it introduces further change in synthesized sound. String Inharmonicity in Piano Strings A paper on the phenomenon of piano strings that provides the piano its unique timbre. The paper required critical examination of the vibration of a piano string, and why it produces a unique timbre different from other stringed instruments. The project was done by recording piano string samples and applying FFT to examine its harmonics.
