Throughout its first 100 years RPL has grown into a great public library dedicated to encouraging the joy of reading and life long learning. As part of this celebration the RPL Foundation has set a goal to add 100 new endowments in 2011 in support of continued improvement and expansion of library resources and services during its next 100 years of service to the community. Salisbury Symphony at RPL

The Salisbury Symphony recently hosted a musical petting zoo at RPL Headquarters in Salisbury. About 17 children had fun trying out different instruments and learning about Vivaldi and his music The Four Seasons. David Hagy, conductor and music director of the Salisbury Symphony, and Susan Trivette, education director, presented information about Vivaldi and led participants in an activity designed to explore the seasons. The Salisbury Youth Orchestra were on hand to perform for the children and helped show them how to use the instruments.
