Abstract Core sample analysis is necessary to obtain objective information physical properties of reservoir rock. This information is important in drilling and production operation to evaluate the production of hydrocarbon. Our group took sample of carbonate rocks from Kukup Beach, Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta. We made the dimension of sample 2X2X2 cm. We did some analyzed such as porosity with scaling metodh, permeability with gas permeameter, and acid solubility in the laboratory analyze of core sample, the Faculty of Minerals, Petroleum Engineering department, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta. Preface The problem that we discuss in this experiment is how to definite the potential of carbonate sample to become reservoir rock. Reservoir rock have to porous and permeable. On this occasion, we analyzed the porosity, permeability, and acid solubility. Porous is mean that rocks is have pores. If reservoir rocks have large porosity, it mean that the rock can store large quantity of fluid. Permeable is mean that rocks can pass fluid. If reservoir rocks have large permeability, it mean that the rock can pass fluid easily. Production rate can be decreased drastically cause the skin around on the perforation hole. It will make permeability rate decreased. For carbonate rocks, the way to increased the permeability rate is to removed the skin by acidizing. Plug will dissolve with acids and can improve the permeability rate of production will increase. Result Analysis of physical properties of carbonate rocks obtained porosity of 11%, the permeability value obtained for 936 mD, and acid solubility values obtained for 16,98%. Discussion

In permeability experiment by using gas permeameter, it used 3 samples to determine permeability value of those samples. Based on the experiment, from 3 samples that is used, only 1 samples which the permeability can be known. It shows in a rock contains part that has related pores, and contains crystallized part. So in this experiment, there cant be determined the permeability. That crystalized limestone can caused by a good cementation process and input of little granulars into pores, so the pores covered by the cement and that granulars.
Based on the above analysis of carbonate rocks, the porosity we obtained is 11%.

Conclusion

1. The Result of the experiment is: Porosity = 11% Permeability = 936 mD Acid Solubility = 16,98% 2. To increase of production can using acid solubility to do stimulation 3. The carbonate sediment is less potential to be become reservoir
