Veterans Affairs is scheduled to meet behind closed doors once again for consideration of a draft report pertaining to the study on Commemorative Celebrations in the 21st Century. Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics is scheduled to meet behind closed doors for a technical briefing on the Lobbying Act from officials in the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying and Treasury Board. Foreign Affairs is scheduled to hear from representatives of Brandaid Project and Results Canada for its study of The Role of the Private Sector in Achieving Canada's International Development Interests. Justice & Human Rights will be meeting to consider the request by 4 Members of the committee to Undertake a Study of Bill C-290, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sports betting). The committee will also be considering the draft report of the study on the State of Organized Crime. Several Francophone organizations are scheduled to appear at the Official Languages as part of its ongoing study called Evaluation of the Roadmap: Improving Programs and Service Delivery. Defence is scheduled to meet In Camera to consider instructions for drafting a report on its study on Maintaining the Readiness of the Canadian Forces. Institute of Governance representatives will be providing testimony at the Aboriginal Affairs committee on the topic of Land-Use and Sustainable Economic Development. Finance will be holding another In Camera meeting for consideration of a draft report on the 2011 pre-budget consultations. Citizenship and Immigration will deliberate on two items behind closed doors. First, consideration of a draft report on its study of Immigration Application Backlogs in Light of the Action Plan for Faster Immigration and second, discussion of the 3rd report of the subcommittee. Environment is scheduled to meet In Camera again to consider a draft report on its Statutory Review of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. Subcommittee on Private Members' Business is holding a meeting to consider the votability of replacement items that have been placed on the Order of Precedence. Witnesses from Correctional Service of Canada will appear at the Public Safety committee as part of its comprehensive study into Drugs and Alcohol in Prisons before the committee goes in Camera to consider the draft report on this study. Among the witnesses expected to testify at the Agriculture and Agri-Food committee on the topic Growing Forward 2 (Business Risk Management Programs), are Canadian Pork Council, Chicken Farmers of Canada, Keystone Agricultural Producers and the National Cattle Feeders Association.

Status of Women is set to hold another In Camera meeting on its draft report from the study on Violence Against Aboriginal Women. Fisheries & Oceans continues its exhaustive study on Closed Containment Salmon Aquaculture and will hear testimony from BC Zoology professor Colin Brauner and the Living Oceans Society Representatives from the Conference Board of Canada, Suncor Energy Inc., Mining Industry Human Resource Council and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) will be appearing at the Human Resources committee as part of its ongoing study into Skills Development in Remote Rural Communities in an Era of Fiscal Restraint. Minister of Public Works and Government Services and for Status of Women, Rona Ambrose will appear before the Government Operations and Estimates committee on the study concerning the New Entity Shared Services Canada, along with Shared Services Canada President Liseanne Forand.

Energy, Environment and Natural Resources continues hearings in Western Canada with a stop today in Regina to hear from a multitude of groups for its study on the current state and future of Canada's energy sector (including alternative energy). Hearings continue on Bill C-18, An Act to reorganize the Canadian Wheat Board and to make consequential and related amendments to certain Acts at the Agriculture and Forestry committee. The committee will be holding two lengthy meetings today to hear testimony from groups including representatives from the Canadian Wheat Board, Canadian International Grains Institute, Western Canadian Barley Growers Association, Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association, National Farmers' Union. Representatives from the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada, Credit Union Central of Canada and the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Inc. are scheduled to appear at the Banking, Trade and Commerce committee as part of its review of Bill S-5, Financial System Review Act. Foreign Affairs and International Trade will be meeting behind closed doors as part of its look at the political and economic developments in Brazil and the implications for Canadian policy and interests in the region, and other related matters. Administrative items will be considered at the Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration committee. Legal and Constitutional Affairs will be meeting In Camera to consider a draft report of its examination into the provisions and operation of the Act to amend the Criminal Code (production of records in sexual offence proceedings), S.C. 1997, c. 30.

* Bill C-308, An Act respecting a Commission of Inquiry into the development and implementation of a national fishery rebuilding strategy for fish stocks off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador This bill would mandate the Governor in Council to establish a Commission of Inquiry to study the development and implementation of a rebuilding strategy for fish stocks off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. ** Bill C-280, An Act to establish a National Strategy for Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) This bill would require the Minister of Health to convene a conference with the provincial and territorial ministers responsible for health for the purpose of establishing a national strategy to ensure clinical trials are started for the treatment of chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) and to estimate the funding necessary to undertake those clinical trials in Canada and to track individuals who have been treated for CCSVI.
