Dear Friend, Greetings to you on this beautiful December day from everyone at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Torrington, CT. It is one of the most gracious times of the year because we celebrate our Lord Jesus birth. Many verses of Scripture comes to life concerning the birth of our Savior, such as Micah 5:2, which says, But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting. The Lord Jesus fulfilled this verse when He was born in Bethlehem that day. But did you ever take a good look at what this verse is saying? We know the Lords ruler would come forth from Bethlehem, but the rest of the verse says His goings forth have been from old, from everlasting. There is only One I know of that is from everlasting and that is the Almighty, all- knowing God, and the Father of all. Could this ruler be more than just a baby born on Christmas day? Another verse says this: For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). This child born and this Son given was no ordinary person! I experienced first-hand how wonderful He is when I asked Him to forgive me of my sins (which were many), and He frankly forgave me! He has given me sound counsel through the years from the Bible, which I am convinced is the Word of God. When I pray in the name of Jesus I have found just how mighty God truly is! He has answered prayer in miraculous ways so many times. He has shown His mighty arm and revealed His power to us when He raised the Lord Jesus from the dead. In the 36 years since I asked Him into my life He has never changed. Our Father in heaven has never been moved by any circumstance or situation, no matter how dire the case may be. We have seen governments and leaders come and go over the years. We have seen economies rise and fall. We have experienced good times and bad, but there has never been a time that we have called on the name of the Lord Jesus and our heavenly Father has not heard! He is always there, working that which is right in His sight (if only we would let Him!). And I must say that His presence has always been the ways of peace. I know His presence because it is perfect peace. All these things are found in the Lord Jesus Christ! What is the greatest gift a person can receive for Christmas? The Lord Jesus Christ, of course! Paul wrote these words: Even so, when we were children,

were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the Law, To redeem them that were under the Law, that we might receive the adoptions of sons. (Galatians 4:3-5). God went through great pains to make it possible for you and me to become His sons and daughters by faith in Christ. Our element was the sinful nature, but the birth of Jesus Christ began the adoption process for God to redeem us out of that sinful nature! He saw us and loved us and paid the ultimate price to bring us back to Him. Some of us were terrible sinners and others not so much. But we all were born under the curse of the sin of Adam and Eve. That curse is death to all. Can any escape such a fate? No: except through Christ Jesus our Lord! He took our place because He loved us. Gods peace is not just to men of good will, but His will is peace on earth, good will toward men. Thats His will. But it will never happen until we receive Him, the Prince of Peace, into our hearts. If His peace rules in our hearts there will never again be hate or corruption or any evil thing, for His peace is perfect. To receive His peace is to receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end! As His government increases in your life so will His peace. Make this Christmas the most blessed you ever had by receiving Gods gift, the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart. You will never regret that decision! Our church is praying that your Christmas will be blessed with the peace of God through our Lord Jesus Christ, both now and throughout the coming year! We invite you to any of our regular services: Sunday at 10 AM and 7 PM and Wednesday at 7:30 PM. We also invite you to our Christmas Eve service at 7:30 PM (our December 25th morning service is cancelled but we will still hold our evening service).
