LIMITATIONS
GENERAL The FMSs meet the accuracy criteria of AC 90.45A and AC 20.130A for en-route, terminal and approach areas provided the FMS is not in DR and excepted when POS WARN (Position Warning) FMS message is displayed on the CDU. The minimum navigation performance required by NAT MNPS regulations (French arrt of November 5th, 1987 and FAR Part 91 Appendix C) are demonstrated provided that there are at least 2 FMSs and 2 IRSs in NAV mode operating on board. LIMITATIONS GNS-X/ES navigation must be periodically verified during the flight, by: - Reading the Quality Factor (QF or Q). - Comparison with the other means of radio-navigation. To monitor the FMS with VOR DME raw data, the VPU used for monitoring should not be in autotune mode. FUEL, TIME prediction informations are provided for advisory purposes only and must not be used for flight plan purposes. Use of following functions is not authorized: - LHDG. - Holding pattern. - VNAV. - SID and STAR procedures. - Approach. Manual VOR tuning through the CDU is prohibited. Use of bearing / distance on the CDU tune page is prohibited. GPS - FMS may only be used for supplemental navigation when at least one GPS is used as a sensor. - FMS may not be used with only the GPS sensor in function. - FMS may not be used in terminal areas, approach, landing or take-off if at least one GPS is used as a sensor. - The FMS position must be monitored by the crew using other approved navigation means if GPS is used as a sensor. - The raw data only, calculated by the GPS may not be used for navigation. NOTE PFD: in VOR source, do not use the FMS distance if the airplane is equipped with FMS (GNS XES) MOD 1.
