Statement of the problem


This study illustrates to focus on the relationship between stress factors (health, social, and academic) and the level of perceived stress at three different periods of a semester (beginning, middle and end), and their impact on the academic performance. The study will be made in comparison to the public sector with the countrys private sector employees from the capital, Male. This paper will also discuss opportunities and the incentives that should be present to attract the employees of both private sector and public sector.

Research Question
This study illustrates to focus on the relationship between stress factors (health, social, and academic) and the level of perceived stress at three different periods of a semester (beginning, middle and end), and their impact on the academic performance.

Aims and Objectives


This research attempts to: 1) To identify significant difference in the level of perceived stress among the students at the beginning, middle, and at the end of the semester. 2) To determine the significant correlation in the level of perceived stress among the students at
the beginning, middle, and at the end of the semester with their academic performance. 3) To examined the significant association between the level of occurrence of stress factors and academic performance of the students.

Research Scope
It is anticipated that the analysis of this research will create a general understanding of the issues faced by the public sector employees and private sectors employees and look into constructive and practical ways to overcome the issues.

Outline of Chapters
As similar to any other academic research study this report is also based on 5 major chapters which cover a brief outline of the contents to be discussed as below. Chapter 1 Introduction This chapter gives a brief introduction into the problem and what is being proposed to study. It also allows readers the main aims and objectives of this research. Chapter 2 Literature Review This chapter covers the literature review on the topics covered in this report and it reviews the importance of employee satisfaction in the working environment and its attributes to a better performance. Chapter 3 Research Methodology This chapter emphasises on the methodology used for this research with a detailed description on how data will be collected and then analysed. The concerning formulation data will be based on primary and secondary sources.

Chapter 4 Findings and Analysis After research is carried out in accordance to the method outlined in chapter 3, the outcome and findings are presented in this section. This section attempts to present the results accompanied with insights in terms of good reasoning.

Chapter 5 Conclusions The final objective will be reached in this chapter. The chapter will conclude with a component of recommendations to implementation of better job satisfactory levels among public and private sector employees of Maldives.
