Brief 9 For this brief I chose to focus on Brief 1, Brief 2, Brief 4 and Brief 7.

I chose to use all my work so it isnt just compared to professionals work, this way the interviewee can see different techniques and different media all used by me. This may also shows my progress/ regress throughout the course. I wanted to find out if videos had more impact regardless of sounds used. I selected the same friends from brief 5 as they should already be able to look at a piece of work and have a huge response, also I get very honest opinions from them. I explained each brief carefully so that the interviewees understood what it was about and to show the work wasnt meaningless. Questions I asked follows as: - If numbers are displayed next to a question it is the name of the brief they have voted or referring to for the particular question. Which is your favourite and why? 4,4,7,7,7 . Because its simple and the way colour is used is eye catching (Brief 7) . Because it seems like the animation was a long process and I wouldnt know how to do it (brief 4) . Because it displays well as an image as well as on the phone for a wallpaper (Brief 7) . Its clean and precise and I cant spot any errors (Brief 7) . It matches the phone (Brief 7) . Because I havent seen this type of work from you before (Brief 4) What had the best start/finish? 4,4,4,7,7 . The wallpapers as a series is much better quality (Brief 7) . The mouse fight in the stop animation was cool (Brief 4) . Brief 4 because it kept me guessing what would happen (Brief 4) . Brief 4 had a slow start but a really good middle and end (Brief 4) What was the least interesting and why? 2,2,1,1,2 . The animation wasnt as sharp or clean as it should be (Brief 2) . The typography is ugly and you could of chose better words and items to trace (Brief 1) . Seemed pointless even though it fitted you brief (Brief 2) Would you use any of these yourselves? 7,7,7,7,4 . Wallpapers because it looks good on a blackberry (Brief 7) . Stop animation because its different ( Brief 4) . It serves its purpose (Brief 7) Which one do you wish you made? 7,7,7,7,4 From the research I have gathered its evident that videos dont always have more impact than a still image, as it seems brief 7 (wallpapers) have caught the attention of most of the interviewees in a good aspect. Furthermore brief 2 which is a video was named the least interesting and the most disliked out of all the briefs I have done. The responses to the questions were quite detailed and I can see that quality is a big issue no matter what type of media it is, and it more or less determines how good of an impact and how interesting it is. Alongside the visual aspects it seems as if aesthetics plays a major role in the impact the media gives.
