Hired to re-establish a presence in four states (AZ, NM, CO, NV) that had been neglected for an extended period of time. Restructured the territory releasing two under-performing distributors and hiring four new effective distributors in the first 2 months. Early stage spine implant company with new anterior cervical plates and a posterior fusion system. Increased spinal implant sales by 70% resulting in the highest annual sales of all six Lanx regions. Exceeded the annual quota driving sales to over 18% overall growth. Initiated and spearheaded the effort to secure the Femoral and Tibial Nail business at University Medical Center in Tucson where DePuy previously had zero trauma business. Achieved a contract for the majority of all Intramedullary Nail business. Third best out of all 15 US territories in inventory utilization scores. Received DePuy ENCORE Award as voted by my peers for excellence in organizing and performing the sales education for the Mountain region reps. Identified new major trauma opportunities and lobbied for the resources to set up the Washington and Oregon distributor for 2007 which subsequently took first place with over 34% trauma growth. Recruited and secured three KOL strategic product development investigator contracts with prominent and University based surgeons. This lead to two new DePuy trauma system launches. Solely located, hired, trained and cultivated a new independent sales force for this start-up company in the 13 western states. Built the sales team to include 16 Distributors, 5 Direct Sales reports, and 3 District Managers within three years. First of the four Regional Managers to reach monthly sales of $1M. Drove annual region sales from $200,000 in 2001 to over $12M in three years tracking for $18M in 2006. Proposed, created, planned and hosted the first Hand Innovations cadaver surgeon training meeting which 26 attended. This technique was so successful in generating sales growth it was universally adopted by Hand Innovations and credited for much of the huge company wide sales growth. Cultivated personal relationships with 12 surgeon Key Opinion Leaders who all became cadaver lab trainers and speakers. I averaged two of these cadaver lab meetings per month in the West.
