Macro skills in Business Result intermediate and International Express intermediate: comparative analysis Introduction and the purpose of the study:
to find out which macro skill dominates over the others (its difficult to find percentage and measure it, but by analyzing the exercises one by one and determining which macroskills students use, the overall number of macro skills used can be determined). to determine which coursebook focuses on which macro skill to determine, by comparison of the findings, which coursebook is better for communicative purpose and which one is more versatile, all-embracing.

Each exercise is analysed with regard to which macroskill it develops and this macroskill is given one point e.g. one listening exercise one point for Listening. Then, the numbers of 4 macro skills are summed up and the dominance of some macro skills should be observed in each coursebook. 2 Then, the numbers of macro skills from each coursebook are compared with the number of macro skills from another coursebook.
