The Volvo B9L and B9LA Articulated are available in the following variants
VolVo B9l. Two-axle low-floor chassis with rear-mounted vertical 9-litre diesel engine producing 260 or 310 hp. Total length up to 12 m.

VolVo B9lA. Three-axle low-floor chassis with rear-mounted vertical 9-litre diesel engine producing 310 or 360 hp. Total length up to 18 m.

Top-leVel driVeABiliTy. The Volvo d9B is available with either 260, 310 or 360 hp and offers high torque across a broad rev range. maximum torque for the more powerful version is a generous 1600 nm. in practice this means immediate response to the throttle, fuel-optimised acceleration and excellent low-rev pulling power.

dieSel WiTh A CleAn ConSCienCe euro 5 And eeV. Volvos latest diesel engine, the Volvo d9B, is a fuel-efficient powerplant with low emissions of climate-impacting carbon dioxide. The Volvo d9B also produces very low emissions of other air pollutants. The engine is certified according to euro 5 and is even available in a version for eeV, which stands for enhanced environmental friendly Vehicles. This is a voluntary set of regulations that can be applied by local authorities to speed up the introduction of vehicles with a lower environmental imprint. eeV requirements reduce particulate emissions by 33 percent compared with euro 5.

CleAner And more fuel-effiCienT WiTh SCr. The Volvo d9B has been engineered from the outset to provide high fuel efficiency and low particulate emissions. in order to further reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides, it is equipped with SCr (Selective Catalytic reduction) for treatment of the exhaust gases. Another benefit is that SCr has a positive effect on fuel consumption.

mATChing driVeline. low fuel consumption is not just a matter of engine characteristics, it also requires a well-matched driveline. Both engine variants are available with the very latest generation of automatic transmissions featuring a choice of 4 or 6 gears and an integrated retarder. The rear axle is of drop-centre type and is available with a wide selection of ratios.

The feature that has made it possible to integrate many of these advanced functions in Volvo eBS is Volvos multiplex electrical system. it also has a number of diagnostic functions that permit quick and efficient fault-tracing. Coolant level, oil level, oil pressure, air pressure, turbocharger pressure and other parameters are automatically checked every time the bus is started. The electronic architecture is designed for simple connection to the bodys electrical system.

Simple dAily SerViCe. All the service points are easily accessible and the buss electronic system automatically checks a variety of basic functions such as coolant level, oil level, oil pressure, braking system pressure and turbo pressure every time the bus is started.

eleCTroniCS To help you on The roAd. Volvo eBS contributes to increased safety and shorter stopping distances. With the help of advanced electronics, the system monitors parameters such as acceleration, steering wheel movement and wheel speed. using this information, the system can adjust braking pressure individually on each axle. if the electronic system fails, there is an additional parallel system consisting of two pneumatic circuits. helpS The driVer driVe SAfely. The drivers environment in the Volvo B9l and B9lA is ergonomically designed and features a grip-friendly steering wheel and conveniently positioned controls and instruments. The instrument panel has large, clear instruments and a separate information display offering driver information. logically grouped switches beside the steering wheel accompany the wheel when it is adjusted in order to always provide a perfect, individually adjusted seating position. All placed so that the driver is able to concentrate fully on the task. eASy To mAnoeuVre. The Volvo B9l and B9lA are easy to manoeuvre. Wheel deflection angle is a generous 54 degrees. Air suspension and sturdy roll stabilisers provide excellent ride comfort and dependable anti-roll characteristics.

VolVo eBS A BrAking SySTem WiTh Added VAlue. The Volvo B9l family is equipped with Volvos electronically controlled eBS braking system, which offers a range of safety and comfort-enhancing features. Brake Blending means that all the braking systems (wheel brakes, engine brake and retarder), can interact to provide the best braking ability with minimal wear on the disc brakes. hill Start Aid helps when starting off on an uphill gradient by maintaining braking effect for a few moments after the driver releases the brake pedal. emergency Braking Assistance helps the driver maximise braking power in an emergency braking situation.

The engine is installed vertically in the rear left of the bus to intrude as little as possible into the passenger compartment and at the same time permit a conveniently low exit from the rear door.

entry height is 340 mm at all the doors. With the kneeling function activated, the floor can be lowered to 250 mm. The Volvo B9l is also available in a variant where the entire side can be lowered to this level.

Volvo B9L

The VolVo B9l is a two-axle low-floor bus that can carry about 100 passengers.

VolVo d9B. The Volvo d9B offers superb driveability and excellent fuel economy. The Volvo B9l is available with a choice of two engines producing 260 hp (1100 nm) or 310 hp (1400 nm), B9lA 360 hp (1600 nm).

exhAuST SySTem. exhaust system and SCr catalytic converter made of stainless steel for extremely high corrosion resistance and a long lifetime.

SCr. The exhaust gases from the diesel engine are after-treated with the help of SCr (Selective Catalytic reduction) which converts nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen gas and water.

effeCTiVe Cooling. A powerful hydraulic fan system for installation on the roof provides highly effective cooling of the engine and minimal dirt accumulation.

dieSel TAnkS. diesel tanks are available in volumes from 220 litres (two-axle bus) to 380 litres (articulated bus).

Simple dAily SerViCe. The service points are all gathered together for convenience and easy accessibility.

fronT SuSpenSion. The Volvo B9l features conventional lightweight front suspension, designed for minimal tyre wear.

Simple BodyBuilding. frame with smooth upper face makes bodybuilding easier. Volvos multiplex electrical architecture can be easily linked to the bodys own electrical system. The Volvo turntable makes it possible to maintain a low floor throughout the bus.

Volvo B9LA Articulated

The VolVo B9lA is a three-axle low-floor chassis for articulated buses and can carry up to 150 passengers.

The second axle is a drop-centre design for axle loads of up to 10 tonnes.
