Three Angels Messages - Revelation 14:6-12

Revelation 14:6-12 6 And I saw another 1angelG32 fly in the 2midst of heaven, 3having the 4everlasting 5gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 8 And there followed another angelG32, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angelG32 followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the 6holyG40angelsG32,the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. FIRST ANGELS MESSAGE Who or what do the angels represent? The Greek word translated as an angel (Strong's G32 - aggelos) simply means: messenger, one who is sent. In Luke 7:27, speaking of John the baptist, we read: This is [he], of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Mat 11:10 For this is [he], of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger32 before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger32 before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. And when the messenger32 of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? This is [he], of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger32 before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger32 of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messenger32, and had sent [them] out another way?

Instances where Greek word aggelos is translated as messenger pertaining to humans except in 2. Cr. 12:7

What does the midst of heaven represents? The expression in the midst of heaven is derived from a Greek word mesouranma which means "the highest point in the heavens, which the sun occupies at noon, where what is done can be seen and heard by all. In Revelation chapter one John in vision describes Jesus as One whose countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. Revelation 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. Jesus is compared to the sun in the scripture as well as the light of the world. Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Not only is Jesus the light of the world but those whom He sends are also. Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (we are as moon to reflect the son) 2 Corinthians 4:5-7 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Position midst of heaven sets the message. What is the everlasting gospel that this messengers proclaim? Greek word translated as the gospel simply means the glad tidings. The Bible definition of the the gospel in found in Romans 1: 16, 17 where we read: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein (in the gospel) is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. In other words, the gospel is the power of GOD given to those who believe in His righteousness for salvation. In Galatians 1:6-9 we read: I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of

Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. We see that these messengers (angels) proclaim the same everlasting gospel of the grace of Christ which is an everlasting gospel. The term grace also represent the power of God. In the New Testament we read several passages that testify to that fact: Acts 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Ephesians 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. The phrase to preach can be translated also as 7good tidingsG2097 of salvation through Christ. The gospel message is also found in the old testament. Isaiah 40:9: O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!; The language used in the scripture above is very similar to the one in Revelation 14:6. John 1:29: The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. As John the baptist ushered the first coming of Christ, being Gods special messenger, so are we to give this message to the world. There is power in beholding Jesus as the sin pardoning Saviour as He is dying on the cross for my and your sins. The world has a twisted view of God as a stern judge ready to condemn and destroy. In Galatians 1:6-9 apostle Paul says: 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

7And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10
Strong's G2097 - euaggeliz 1) to bring good news, to announce glad tidings a) in the NT used especially of the glad tidings of the coming kingdom of God, and of the salvation to be obtained in it through and of what relates to this salvation

Christ,

The grace of Christ has and always will be the gospel message given from Gods true representatives as Paul continues But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. In His interview with Nicodemus Jesus pointed out to him the power of His gospel. We read in John 3:14-17 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. The following old testament passages talk about Christs mission here on earth. Isaiah 61:1-3 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. If we truly believe on Jesus then indeed we will be empowered by His Spirit to proclaim His mission to the dying world. John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. Jesuss going back to the Father resulted in special endowment of the power of the Holy Spirit for the proclamation of the gospel. John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Who is the gospel message intended for? It is for allG3956 that dwell on the earth as indicated into four categories of people. The word all is defined as individually. Nations in the OT, the word nation is used to describe foreign nations not worshipping the true God, pagans, Gentiles. Paul uses the term nation for Gentile Christians. Kindred This word means a tribe, thus indicting that this message is to go even to the primitive people as well. Another use of the word kindred in the NT referred to all the persons descending from one of the twelve sons of the patriarch, Jacob. Tongue The word tongueG1100 is used to represent a member of the body, an organ of speech as well as the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other

nations. People A people, people group, tribe, nation, all those who are of the same stock and language or of a great part of the population gathered together anywhere. The word peopleG2992 is almost always there a title reserved for the elect people, the Israel of God. Still there are exceptions. Apparently the everlasting Gospel is to go to all people individually. What does it mean to fear God? Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Deuteronomy 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an uprightH3477 man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right (same root word as Job1:8 - uprightH3477) in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. What does it mean to give glory to God? In Revelation 4:11 we read about the scene that is happening in heaven where heavenly beings are giving glory to God. And the reason given is that God is the Creator of all things. This is the reason that we are to give glory to God. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. The Psalmist David points out what sets God apart from all other gods. If we dont give glory to God as the Creator it is as if we worship other gods. Psalm 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Again we read that glory belongs to God because He is the Creator.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. Since the Bible admonishes us to fear God by keeping his commandments and to give Him glory as the Creator we find that the fourth commandment of the moral law points us to God as such. Exodus 20: 8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. The phrase For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth... or because of, gives us the reason why we should keep the seventh day Sabbath. It acknowledges God as the Creator of all and commemorates the creation of our world. Paul admonishes us that in everything we do we should do it to glorify God. Even in our eating and drinking. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. God most delights if we allow Him, by the power of His Holy Spirit, to change us back into His image from which we are created (Genesis 1:27). The only way is if Christ lives in us. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Colossians 1:23,27,28 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Judgment is come Judgment and justification go hand and hand. As in an earthly tribunal a person is either justified or condemned. Those who have accepted the pardoning blood of Jesus are justified while those who reject Gods mercy offered by Christs sacrifice are responsible to bear their own iniquity and therefore are condemned. Daniel 7:9,10 (RV) I Beheld, says the prophet Daniel, till thrones were placed, and One that was ancient

of days did sit. His raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and the wheels thereof burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him; thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the Judgment was set, and the books were opened. Daniel 7:13,14 (RV) And, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away. 1 Peter 4:17 "Judgment must begin at the house of God." To the prophet Daniel was presented the great and solemn day when the characters and the lives of men should pass in review before the Judge of all the earth. Jesus - the Son of man, comes before the Father while angelic host is witnessing the court scene. Peter tells us that the it begins with with the people of God - all who have entered the service for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Revelation 22:11, 12 "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." We are living in a probationary period and there is a point in time when cases of all will be decided forever indicated by the words He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still.... Since Jesus is coming with the reward - the cases of all must be decided beforehand. We are not saved by our works but the good works indicate that we have accepted Christs sacrifice in our behalf and allowed His saving power to transform our lives into His image. In Matthew 1:21 we read why Jesus came to this world: ...and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Since Jesus came to save us from and not in our sins we are to lay hold of His power and be over-comers as we are reminded in Revelation 3:21: To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. The question arises: how did Jesus overcome? When Jesus was tempted by the devil He responded three times with the words It is written (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10). Jesus used His own word to overcome the temptations of the devil - so are we. Apostle Peter admonishes us in 2. Peter 1: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. In order for us to be over-comers - to escape the corruption that is in the world through lust we must believe and claim the promises of God. This is what David meant when he said Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11. Jesus is that word (John 1:1-14). Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. James 2:11-12 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. The judgment must have a standard by which all will judged. That standard is the law of God. The apostle Paul declares: "As many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law, . . . in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ." And he says that "the doers of the law shall be justified." Romans 2:12-16. Faith is essential in order to the keeping of the law of God; for "without faith it is impossible to please Him." And "whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Hebrews 11:6; Romans 14:23. Those who disregard the law of God are not going to stand in the judgment. To the young rich ruler Jesus gave the condition for entering life eternal: ...but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matthew 19:17. Many today think like the Pharisees of old that Jesus came to abolish the law but Jesus answered this idea when He said: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17. Some have (miss)understood that to fulfill means to do away but the word 8fulfill4137 simply means to carry into effect. If the law contained in the ten commandments was done away than there would not be sin any more. In 1. John 3: 4 we find the definition of sin: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. We are not saved by keepeing the law but the law reveals what is sin: Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20; For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10 The devil was always angry against those who loved Jesus and kept His commandments (John 14:15). This is the very reason that Satan is waring against the remnant of God: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the

commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17. This is what the last great struggle is all about. His strategy is very diverse. Weather man say that the law is abolished on the cross, we cant keep the law (indeed we cant apart from Christ but through Him we can do all things, Philippians 4: 13), or be compelled to break it (Daniel 3) it doesn't make a difference. We have a promise that it is possible to be overcomers: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:24, 25 Isaiah 42:4, 5 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: According to the verses above, judgement begins with the people of God. What does it mean to worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.? In the following scriptures the true God is contrasted with the false gods by virtue of the fact that He has creative power and the others do not: "For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens" (Psalm 96:5). "but the Lord is the true God. ... Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish. ...He hath made the earth by his power" (Jeremiah 10:10, 12). It will be noted that in the introduction of the true God, as contrasted with other gods, the prophet says, "He hath made the earth." In speaking of the false gods, he says that "have not made the heavens and the earth." The power to create is what marks the true God from the other gods. When Jonah was introducing the God he worshiped, he said to those on the ship who worshiped other gods: "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land" (Jonah 1:9). All through the Old Testament the true God is thus distinguished. It is the same in the New Testament. In Acts 4:24 the disciples prayed, "Lord, thou art God, which has made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is." These words are from the Sabbath (Saturday) commandment, which says, "the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is." The disciples were praying to the Lord whose creative power is acknowledged in the observance of the memorial of creation. He is the true God. In making known to the people of Lystra the true God, Paul said, "We preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein" (Acts 14:15). Here again we find the disciples quoting from the Sabbath commandment. While Paul waited at Athens, "his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry." In introducing the people to the true God, he said, "For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare

I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth" (Acts 17:16, 23, 24). In declaring the true God to those philosophers, Paul introduced Him as the One "that made the world," and then said, "He is Lord." The judgment-hour message that is being proclaimed to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people today calls upon them to "worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water" (Revelation 14:7). This array of scriptural references should convince anyone that the great truth which God intended should be perpetuated by the observance of the Sabbath and that the one and only true God is the Creator. By our observance of the Sabbath we show that we repudiate evolution and accept the Genesis account of creation, acknowledging God as the Creator. As long as it is in man's duty to recognize God as the Creator, the Sabbath will endure. In Psalm 111:4 we are told that God "made his wonderful works to be remembered." The reason is that His works remind us of creation, and creation reminds us of the Creator, and the Creator is the only true God. Since He "hath made his wonderful works to be remembered, it would be only natural that, at the close of the week in which these wonderful works were done, He should institute a memorial by which we would be reminded from week to week of them. Thus we would never forget who the true God is, and drift into idolatry, or deny Him as the Creator by accepting the theory of evolution. So at the close of creation week, on the seventh day, the Creator rested from all His works; and at the same time He "blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it (Genesis 2:1-3). That the seventh day was sanctified as a memorial is proved by the fact that the first word in the Sabbath commandment is "remember." Remember what? "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." Why? "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth." The Sabbath is a memorial of His wonderful works which He "hath made ... to be remembered." In order for us to worhip God as the one who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters we need to acknowedge the claims of the fourth commandment and worship God on the seventh day of the week - Saturdy.
