Austin Nutt Geography 101 Assignment 4 Due July 7

Although I concede to the fact that it would be a difficult task to integrate already settled Arabs in the maturing independent Jewish state, I argue that the Israelites own the most valid claim to Palestine. Since it would only cause more tribulations by declaring the Gaza Strip its own independent entity I argue that this geographic region should be integrated into the Israeli territory. Because of its geographic location, being nearly surrounded by Israel to the East and South, I argue that it would be best if the region was placed under Israels control. Although it would be quite a sacrifice for the Arabs of the Gaza Strip to relocate or integrate into Israel, I claim that it is a necessary sacrifice. If this controversial region is enabled to remain an independent territory more tension would erupt as a result of territorial lust. Furthermore, I claim that historically and for the sake of Jewish preservation and peace that Israel has the most valid claim to the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Golan Heights. First and foremost the city of Jerusalem has seen its share of crusades. Why do Arabs believe that they reign in command of Jerusalem? Jerusalem was only under Arab leadership from year 638 to 1099 by means of conquest. Does not the great country of the United States of America face similar circumstances? Do the meso-Americans threaten to retake the region of the United States of America? Furthermore, archaeological evidence overrules the claim that Arabs have descended from the Canaanites, the long ago inhabitants of the region of Israel. Although it may be a difficult transition, I argue that for the sake of peace and prosperity the remaining Palestinian territories should be placed under the control of Israel. In order for society to flourish, tension should obviously be released but most importantly the population

must support its government. This cannot happen when inhabitants live as refugees. Rather than live as refugees all citizens should be integrated into the occupied geographic society or immigrate to a new location. Israel is the last and only frontier for Jewish heritage. There exist many Arab countries including their native country of Arabia. Why not just respect the differences between the two religions and allow coexistence. The people of the kingdom of Judah, the Jews, seized the land from the Canaanites, therefore the only other peoples who may take precedence of Israel respectfully may be the Canaanites. But, as we can obviously see they are not opposing the people of Israel because they no longer exist.
