1. Illustration of the Organization Historically organization called the Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (PMII), has dedicated itself in every momentum change in the archipelago. As a student organization was grounded in ideology of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah. PMII was contributed in this phase of the history of this nation. PMII was passed some moments that should be underlined because it was not merely a heroic event but PMII has rather a marker of social transformation. In the phase of the tide of history, was recorded some fundamental changes and the involvement of PMII in the struggle of the movement and thought.

2. Background Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (PMII) is the largest youth organization in Indonesia with more than 1 million members in 222 branches and 1110 network universities across the country. The focus of organization was all about students empowerment, in terms of education and the improvement of human resources. PMII was ambition to create moderate moslems in Indonesia as part of democratic society around the world (since the initiative of PMII establishment about 50 years ago (1961-2011) supported by Nadhlatul Ulama, as the largest moderate moslem organization in the world). As one element of Indonesian students, PMII was continuing to aspire to bring Indonesia into the future for the better. PMII was standing on 17 April 1960 against the background of the political situation in the 1960s that requires the students took part in the social life of political coloring in Indonesia. PMII establishment led by the young NU (although at a later date with the inception Declaration of Murnajati in July 14 1972, PMII was declared under independent attitude of the institution NU). The founders of PMII were Mahbub Djunaidi and Subhan ZE (a journalist as well as politician legendary).

PMII was necessary in answering the challenges of the times. Establishment with a strong desire for NU students to establish a student organization whose ideology Ahlusssunnah wal Jama'ah. and marginalization of NU students. The things mentioned above was lead PMII became anxiety and strong of NU students intellectual. PMII was establishing his own organization as a vehicle for channeling the aspirations and the development potential of NU students.

3. Vision and Mission The vision of PMII was developing from two primary foundation, Islam and nationalism. PMII was developing Islam an inclusive, tolerant and moderate. PMII was idealizing a life of democratic, tolerans, and built on a along spirit for justice for all citizens of the nation's elements without exception. The mission of PMII was taken from manifestation of the commitment of Islam and Indonesianness. It was as the realization religious consciousness, nation and the state. With this awareness, PMII as one exponent and reformer of the nation's intellectual mission of duty bearers and assume responsibility and commitment to Islam in order to enhance Indonesianness dignity of human beings and liberate the Indonesian nation from poverty, ignorance and backwardness of both spiritual and material in all forms.

4. Programs and Organization Plans a. Research of Counter Radicalism in Indonesia As part of the change agents, PMII must be able to formulate the solutions to problems facing the nation, such as radicalism and peace. PMII must determine the systematic formulas, strategies with a variety of perspectives in support of the motion and move of PMII into the forefront in carrying change and in counter the radicalism in this country.

One topic about radicalism was arrived and be important after bomb of Bali I, bomb of Bali II, Kuningan, Poso, Nusa Tenggara Timur, etc. Radicalism was activity based on certain faith, ignore other faith and claim that the faith was absolutely true and unquestionable. In this issue, PMII as a group of young men and women are the backbone of the nation Indonesia was obliged to face all kinds of problems that interfere with and threaten the unity of the nation. As the real participation to answer the radicalism in this country, PMII will take research about the counter radicalism in Indonesia. We will analyze the deep reasons and cause of radicalism in some level such as from actors, government, scholars, community, police, intelligence, observers, and from the point of economic, politic, educations, culture, and etc. This research to find the deep answer to stop the radicalism, save generation and the nation from the threat of radicalism. b. Speech Tour in America Open cooperation with the U.S. is concerned about the issues of peace, anti-radicalism, and moderate Islam. PMII will try to campaign the importance of a moderate religious understanding, as a result of the growth of radicalism and fundamentalism. This event, will be performed with some form such as, dialogues, visits, seminars, meeting with leaders of multi religions and others. This program will cooperate with U.S government, embassy of the United State for Indonesia, embassy of Indonesia for the United State, universities, non-government organization, American Muslims, scholars of multi religions, etc. The main idea of the program from Mr. President of the United State, Barack Hussein Obama, he invites the Islamic world together open a new round of relationships with America. Before, there is a gap between Islam and America, related problem of radicalism. Then, PMII will campaign about the peace of Islam, especially moderate Islam, as a strategic partner in establishing of anti-radicalism and anti-terrorism. PMII will campaign for the message of Islam is peaceful and tolerant. In this case, PMII be a motor in the campaign's Islam Ahlussunah Waljamaah, as the idea of Islam moderate.
