Skill: Listening, Speaking and Reading (Power Point) Aims:


In this lesson, the students will learn about healthy living . They will study which foods are healthy and which foods are unhealthy. Through discussion of their previous knowledge and reading from power point slides with the teacher, the students will recognize that they have to make choices about what they eat. The purpose of this lesson is to raise the students' consciousness about the need of all people to have healthy living which includes eating healthy food and doing exercise .

Objectives:
The student will be able to : Define healthy living(in a simple way)in their own word. Recognize the healthy food from unhealthy one . Describe which foods they should eat more of (or less) than others. Join healthy eating with doing exercises . Knowing the factors that affect our ways to live. Understand that healthy food is important to all people. Understand that doing exercises is important to all people.

Materials:
Marker, Board, Power Point About Healthy living , videos and realia(real objects).

Warming-up:
I'll show them two famous Cartoon characters(Pappy and Pluto) ; one of them eats healthy food while the other unhealthy. Then , I'll ask them to tell me who the stronger and why? (10 min)

Instructional Procedure(s):
After worming up , I'll ask the students to define what healthy living in their own words or what do they think it means?(5 min). Next, work in pairs to tell each other your favorite food and why you enjoy that particular food. Some of the answers may be healthy choices. So I'll ask (what do you think of your choice ,is it healthy, do you know the benefits of eating healthy food).(10 min) Then, I'll show them the benefits of eating healthy food in the power point. After that, I'll read to them, from the slides, the kinds of the food which are healthy and the right amount of each. Also ,I'll tell the students to pay attention to the types and amount of foods that they eat.(5min) I'll tell them ,during passing the slides of the factors that affect in the ways of living , that even if it is not always easy to eat healthy in todays world because of the environment or the attractive advertising, you have to try to change your way of living to save your life.(5min) I'll ask them (do they do physical activity every day). Then , I'll tell them how is it important for them to practice sports with all different kinds.(2min)

Activity:
Using the mime technique:(I'll ask two volunteers to come in front of the class. I'll give each of them a sentence, which is relate to the main topic, written in a piece of paper . The student tries to act (mime)what I wrote and the other Ss try to guess). The sentences: 1- Healthy food gives you more energy. 2- Junk food makes you tired and feel lazy.

Assessment:
What can you, as students, do to support Living Healthy? Take it as a homework(recording it in a cassette) .
