Times change. Anglers evolve. Technology advances. Since 1933, Fin-Nor has built world-class tackle to meet the demands of the most experienced anglers in the world. Innovations in the use of new materials and new designs, created specifically for the newer, more successful fishing techniques, have given anglers more opportunities to boat the fish of a lifetime. For 2011, Fin-Nor continues on a course set by a legacy of the greatest fishing tackle ever built, and with a partnership commitment to the men and women in search of the next world record catch.
SANTIAGO
All of the history, traditions and excellence of the Fin-Nor brand are built into our flagship reel . . .Santiago. This is the most advanced big game reel ever produced by Fin-Nor and is a bold testament to modern technologys greatest advancements in materials and design. The pinnacle of Fin-Nor engineering, Santiago stands ready when you are to claim the next world record.
Highlights Fully machined one-piece aluminum frame Forged aluminum spool 4 Ceramic/hybrid ball bearings for support and strength Push-button and dial-release 2-speed shift system Classic Fin-Nor gold-anodized corrosion-resistant finish The Santiago Drag Santiagos revolutionary stainless steel drag plate works in conjunction with twin carbon-fiber drag plates to create incredibly smooth, long-lasting drag performance specifically designed to handle strong, long-fighting fish. When engaged, it is water-tight to protect your reels drag from salt and boat splash.
The Santiago Drag System
Fine-tune your settings for your line strength and type of fishing. The drag lever offers a wide range of drag and activates your custom STRIKE setting, with additional strength all the way to FULL setting. The simple push of a button puts the reel into low gear, offering you all the power you need, when you want it, and an easy turn of the dial allows the reel to switch back to high speed for quicker line pickup.

Marquesa is precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, and features one of the strongest drag systems ever put into a reel stronger, in fact, that many international type reels that are much bigger and heavier.
MARQUESA
Fin-Nors newest reel series is the ultimate offering of precision, strength and refinement. Marquesa is ideal for fishing the new, thinner braided superlines in a new platform design that is lighter, faster and stronger than anything youve ever seen on the water. Marquesa is avaiable in two model types: a topless model for easy spool access and control, and a model with a top bar that kite fishermen will especially appreciate. Kite fishermen will also appreciate the dial that allows custom adjustment of clicker tension. The top bar models are perfect for challenging sailfish and the techniques needed to catch them.
Highlights Precision-machined aluminum one-piece frame Ultra-smooth carbon-fiber drag system High-speed 6.1:1 retrieve ratio Adjustable lever drag control Dial-adjustable clicker Oversized ergonomic crank knob
OFFSHORE Spinning
Quality spinning is the mainstay of saltwater fishing. From the shore or from a boat, the spinning reel is the most popular saltwater tool. Today, one of the fastest growing trends in fishing is the targeting of big fish on spinning gear. For fishermen who want to use spinning gear, instead of heavier, more cumbersome conventional reels, Fin-Nor Offshore is the ideal choice. Braided lines, stronger rods and new baits spurred our engineers to develop new technologies and experiment with new, high-tech materials.
Highlights Strong aluminum body, sideplate and rotor Machined stainless steel drive and pinion gear Stainless steel center shaft 4 Double-shielded stainless steel bearings Forged aluminum spool Oversized multi-stack Offshore drag system Powerful 4.4:1 gear ratio
No Springs To Fail.
Offshore spinning reels employ a mechanical knocker to close the bail for. Youll never worry about springs failing when you have a fish on.

OFFSHORE Level-Wind
Fin-Nor Offshore trolling reels are earning a welldeserved reputation for being strong, reliable and versatile. Every Offshore reel is built with oversized components including gears, centershafts, bearings and drag stacks. The Fin-Nor Offshore OFL series also features a fail-proof level-wind system so anglers will know their line is being cross-wrapped and put back onto the reel evenly on each retrieve. This helps maximize spool capacity and castability, and allows the drag to run smoother. Underwrap is eliminated, and anglers will always get even line lay and tangle-free retrieves.

The story of Fin-Nor is a tale of enormous fishes, exotic places, legendary characters and mechanical wizardry. Globally celebrated for its capabilities in catching the worlds largest fish, the Fin-Nor reel has origins rooted in the romance of bygone eras and simpler times. Still, its staying power as both a reel and a brand is barely tarnished more than 70 years after its humble start in an obscure Miami boat engine repair shop. An extraordinary confluence of events occurred in creating this Rolls-Royce of Reels. Americas sporting aristocracy had embraced big game fishing on a par with terrestrial big game hunting by the turn of the 19th century. The American public intently followed their angling progress with a large assist from popular writers like Zane Grey. By the 1930s big game fishing documentary films drew thousands to theaters to hear the latest exploits and celebrate ever greater accomplishments in capturing these mysterious giants of the seas. This was the era of King Kong, who in 1933 emerged from the mists of Skull Island to climb the already two-year-old Empire State Building in New York City, clutching the incandescent Fay Wrey as he terrorized the silver screen. These were truly Kong-sized fishes migrating and cruising ocean reaches and bluewater canyons swordfish, marlin, tuna, sharks. . .and there was significant risk as well as expense involved in their pursuit and capture. These behemoths were found in exotic, often hard-toreach locations and they were believed un-catchable on rod and reel. By the 1930s however, adventurous anglers were finding them, pioneering recreational fisheries for them, and even catching a few of them. Best of all were the breath-taking tales accompanying each new fishing report tales of much larger fish being seen or breaking off. A cadre of legendary anglers, fueled by their enthusiasm for catching huge fish, began to communicate and share their ideas, knowledge and experience. Pioneers like Hemingway, Michael and Helen Lerner, S. Kip Farrington, Jr., and others found the time, means passion and drive to explore and promote the sports. South Florida fishing captains such as Tommy Gifford, Lloyd Knowles, the Cass brothers, Bill Fagen and others were squarely on the cutting edge of making it all happen as big game fishings focus in the 1930s shifted from California to Miami and East Coast. Frustrated by the reels then available to them commercially, and convinced
of the possibility of actually landing the fish they were hooking and losing to frozen drags, stripped gears and spooled lines, these innovative fishermen took matters in their own hands. Through trial and error a small group of veteran Miami-based captains worked out some design principals and eventually connected with Fred Grieten, a World War I Navy veteran who specialized in repairing boat engines, doing a little reel repair on the side. Grieten, simply, had the mechanical genius required to create a reel built to match and exceed the needs of these fish-fighting legends. Grietens reel always worked and never quit, and so Fin-Nor was born. The Fin-Nor story continues as a sporting aristocracy, relatively unaffected by the Great Depression, and sponsored other advances in equipment and techniques, codified fair chase rules, mounted scientific research expeditions and helped make names like Bimini, Miami, Havana, Key West and Wedgeport synonymous with big game fishing. After World War II the boundaries expanded further as large gamefish were discovered in different parts of the world Cabo Blanco, Peru; Iquique, Chile and others. The Fin-Nor reel accompanied anglers to each new and exotic location, and to other established fishing grounds like Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Anglers using Fin-Nor reels set a phenomenal 381 world records, some of which stand today more than 50 years later. Fin-Nors story is that of mythical fishes, legendary anglers, magical places and a reel that wont quit. Fin-Nor emerged from a need by passionate people who wanted to catch bigger fish but couldnt with the equipment available to them.
