UNSC

THE UNSC
The United Nations Space Command (UNSC) is the military, exploratory, and scientific agency of the United Earth Government. The UNSC was formed in the 2160's, during a period where remnants of old cultural ideologies clashed for supremacy in the Sol System. The UNSC served mainly as overseer of United Nations military operations in space. After initiating massive militarization propaganda throughout its off-world colonies, through the UNSC, the UN defeated Communist and Fascist forces in a conflict generally known as the "Interplanetary War", which consisted of several side-battles that took place on Mars, the Jovian Moons and the South American rain forests. Although the Interplanetary War brought a great deal of suffering to both the colonial population and the residents of Earth, it also united humanity's military forces into a common armed force by the end of the 22nd century. Prior to the Covenant's attack on Harvest in 2525 , humanity was in chaos, fighting in multiple fronts, on planets, against a group known as the Insurrectionists who wanted independence from the UEG government. The UNSC, more specifically, the UNSCDF, constantly battled against the Insurrectionists. In an attempt to help end the long running war against the Insurrectionists and rebels, the UEG commissioned the SPARTAN-II Project, which created elite super-soldiers to combat separatists and the insurrections they spawned. When the Covenant-Human War began and the alien invaders began decimating the Outer Colonies, these Spartans became humanity's best hope against the technological superiority of the aliens. When the war began, the UNSC truly became humanity's greatest (and arguably only) defender. This fact allowed the UNSC to override civilian rule and establish itself as humanity's primary government. Although the United Earth Government was more open to step down, the Colonial Administration, the arm of the UEG ruling over the colonies, resisted the UNSC's rise to power, and was thus stripped of its power. By 2552 A.D., Earth was the last remaining major Human bastion; and fell under attack by Covenant forces. The HumanCovenant War finally came to an end after a UNSC and Covenant Separatists force eliminated the Covenant leadership and destroyed the Flood threat. By the time the war began, humanity, and thus the UNSC, had reached Tier 3 of the Forerunner civilization achievement rank system. Humanitys rank continued to rise due to the capture of Covenant technology and equipment, which was studied and adapted for human needs. The very best and cutting edge of UNSC equipment was supplied to the SPARTAN-II Project. One such example of imitative human technology is the energy shielding adapted for use on the MJOLNIR armor. During the First and Second Battle of Earth, the UNSC fought the Covenant Loyalists on Earth to prevent humanity's extinction, and eventually won their right to survive thanks to an alliance with the Covenant Separatists.

Background
The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, a Special Forces unit of the UNSC, are deployed by drop pods that land at the mission site. The United Nations Space Command was formed by the United Nations during the Interplanetary War. After the UNSC victory, overpopulation on Earth became a major issue in the early 22nd century. This issue was resolved and disaster averted by colonizing and building vast cities on other planets in the Orion Arm of the galaxy, the Inner Colonies and later the Outer Colonies. The UNSC's defensive military force is the UNSC Defense Force (UNSCDF), and consists of the UNSC Air Force, the UNSC Army, the UNSC Marine Corps and the UNSC Navy. The UNSC is run by the UNSC Security Council, under the jurisdiction of the Security Committee. The UNSC was originally created to keep the peace, order, and control, thus serving as an executive

governmental branch between neighboring planets and star systems. When certain rebellious factions began to rise in the late 2510s, the UNSC was forced to police its protected colonies tirelessly to keep privateers and pirates from raiding the colonies and any UNSC ships. The Unified Earth Government and the United Nations still exist and operate the UNSC. It acts as a democratic world government, where all the participant nations share the same legal system as the UNSC and act as smaller parts of the greater whole.

Colonization
The four-year long war put the spotlight on problems facing the overpopulated planet, and the Rain Forest Wars also exacerbated the problems relating to food distribution. The ensuing famine and societal problems related to the post-war population boom providing the spark to change the political nature of governance on Earth and elsewhere, leading to the political system seen in the 26th Century. These pressures also helped make space colonization seem more attractive in later centuries, as the Unified Earth Government would sign off on a colony ship program that was revealed in 2310 to ease the burden on the ailing home world. This would not have been possible without the invention of the Slipspace Shaw-Fujikawa drive in the late 2200's, which allowed the ships to travel far greater distances than ever before. It took 52 years before the first colony ship, the Odyssey, was launched, and what became the so-called Inner Colonies were not fully colonized until the end of the 24th century. The apex of human colonization would come in 2492, when more then 800 worlds were under human control and were at various stages of development. By this time, a ring of Outer Colonies was providing the UEG with the raw materials that made the macro-economy work; the political power, however, remained with the before mentioned Inner Colonies. The massive difference in wealth distribution and political power, which became a hallmark of humanity by this period, led to new threats of secession from the outer ring. Fearing the consequences of the breakup of the interstellar empire and seeing the benefits of avoiding all-out war to defend their hold on the colonies, the Earth government would embark on the Spartan-Is, the predecessors to the SPARTAN-II program in 2491, beginning with the ORION Project.

Interplanetary War
The UNSC has its roots in World War II, which would form its parent organization, the United Nations. The UNSC was actually formed and fashioned as the result of a series of brutal conflicts across the Solar System and Humanity's space confines between 2160 and 2164, most prominently among them the Jovian Moons Campaign, The Rain Forest Wars, and a series of battles on Mars. The United Nations Space Command, as organized and orchestrated as it seems is actually an emergency military government formed in such strife. These encounters were centered, around UN clashes with dissident political movements, the most important of which were the "Koslovics" and the "Frieden". More specifically, the Frieden movement was a fascist organization based on the Jovian Moons, though they received backing from some corporations operating in the United German Republic on Earth, while their ideological opponents, the Koslovics, formed a Marxist-Leninist group centered around the leadership of Vladimir Koslov. The war began with an attack on UN Colonial Advisers on the moon of Io, one of the moons of Jupiter, but would spread to Mars and parts of South America in the Rain Forest Wars. These events culminated in a UN buildup in the 2160s, which would result in the second of the great reforms, the first being from the League of Nations into the UN. The second reformed the UN from a largely diplomatic organization to a permanent United Earth Government as an ultimate power to lead the human race by 2170.

The Human-Covenant War

2525 marked an important turning point in human history; it would mark the beginning of the great technological advancement, the unification of a divided and fractured human race, and the first contact of humanity and an extraterrestrial intelligence, the Covenant. It

would also see a majority of the Earth government's over 800 colony worlds glassed, and billions of colonists and military personnel slaughtered by orbital plasma bombardment and planetary invasion, known as glassing. Thus began the Human-Covenant War with the First Battle of Harvest. Stemming from the chance encounter of Human and Covenant forces at Harvest, the first contact made between humanity and the Covenant involved the ship Minor Transgression, and was less peaceful than the second contact made between the two factions. A less aggressive meeting between representatives of the two factions took place on the fields of Harvest, but the peaceful meeting soon turned into a blood bath, with the Covenant claiming the planet for the numerous "Forerunner relics" present, slaughtering most of the colony's population. On April 20, a scout ship, Argo, was sent to investigate the cessation of communications between Harvest and the rest of the UEG's colonies. Before being destroyed by Covenant forces, it discovered that everything on the planet had been completely incinerated, and the surface covered by fields of magma, leaving nothing alive. Soon after the Heracles battle group, consisting of the frigates Arabia and Vostok and the destroyer Heracles, was sent to find out what had happened. On October 7, the battle group dropped out of Slipspace and to Harvest. In orbit around the remains of the colony world was a single alien ship which proceeded to attack the battle group, destroying all the ships except one. Intercepted communications identify the enemy as the Covenant, a caste-driven, theological organization made up of several alien species. The message "Your destruction is the will of the gods... and we are their instrument" was broadcast in perfect English. Since the later Second Battle of Harvest in 2526, where a huge human fleet led by Vice Admiral Preston Cole barely won against a smaller Covenant fleet in a symbolic "victory" for humanity, the humans' grip on their territories declined significantly in the course of their struggle. Of the more than 800 colony worlds, the Covenant had managed to capture the

majority, if not all of the Outer Colonies, and a portion of the Inner Colonies. By this time, the United Nations Space Command overrode the UEG, and thus the central civilian authority throughout the human worlds and Earth itself. Although the central government was more willing to step down, the Colonial Administration was far more reluctant to this idea, and thus the UNSC stripped it of most of its power. By the middle to late stages of the war, the government of humanity could be more accurately described as an "emergency military" government. By 2552, the UNSC Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Militia, outnumbered and out-gunned, had managed to slow down the Covenant's inexorable progress through former human space, but the situation was dire. In desperation, HIGHCOM ordered a high-risk Op, sending the Spartan-II super soldiers, the best soldiers ever fielded by humanity, to insert into Covenant space, capture a highranking Prophet, and return to UNSC space in an attempt to ransom for a truce. Before the operation began, the Covenant found and destroyed the planet Reach, killing most of the Spartans and a large portion of the UNSCDF, inadvertently stopping the operation and rendering most of the Spartans MIA. This became known as the battle of Reach A single ship, the Pillar of Autumn managed to escape the planet, with two Spartans on board, Linda, who was presumably dead in the Battle of Reach and the Master Chief. The ship followed coordinates derived by the AI Cortana to a Ring-world known as Halo. There the Master Chief destroyed a large Covenant fleet and the ring world itself. He also encountered a parasitic life form known as the Flood, the species that the ring, Halo, had been built to starve. The major sideeffect of the activation of the ring would lead to the extinction of all life within three radii of the galactic centre. The Master Chief destroyed the ring, believing it to be too powerful, by detonation of the reactor of the Pillar of Autumn. After hijacking a Covenant Flagship known as Ascendant Justice, the Spartan reunited with the remaining survivors from Halo and the destruction of Reach and attacked a force of Covenant ships in Operation: FIRST

STRIKE, one of the most successful UNSC operations against the Covenant in the entire war. By October of 2552, the Covenant had haphazardly discovered the position of the human home world, Earth, and sent a preliminary task force there, believing it to be the location of the Ark, an ancient Forerunner relic. They encountered staunch resistance, and were initially fended off. Further complications arose from the political and religious crisis that emerged in the wake of a UNSC operation to assassinate the Prophet of Regret, and the secession of the Sangheli from the hegemony, leading to the Covenant Civil War, further throwing the Covenant into chaos. Nevertheless, by November, what was left of the Covenant Loyalists had subjugated large parts of Earth, devastating much of the planet. Only their retreat through a Forerunner portal in Africa, and the arrival of the Sangheili Fleet, stopped the utter destruction of the UNSC and Earth itself. The UNSC and Elite forces launched a joint operation to destroy the Covenant Loyalists once and for all at the Ark, stopping the installation from firing the Halo Array, killing the Covenant's last remaining leader, the Prophet of Truth, and destroying the bulk of the Loyalists' remaining forces. On March 3, 2553, the Human-Covenant War officially ended in a victory for the UNSC and the Covenant Separatists, but at a high price, with most major military outposts destroyed except for Earth as well as many colonies (although it seems that most of the colony worlds were not glassed during the war, with only seventy-six worlds known to have been totally destroyed). It is presumed that millions of UNSC personnel and untold billions of human civilians had been killed from 2525-2553.

The UNSCDF is run by the UNSC Security Council, with the professional head being UNSC High Command, and is the Human on Earth's main military force, most recently fighting the Covenant. The Navy houses the divisions of UNSC Marines (including the Special Forces branch of the UNSC Marines known as Orbital Drop Shock Troopers more commonly know as ODSTs or "Helljumpers"), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), and the Fleet. The UNSC Army and UNSC Air Force maintain garrisons on colony worlds. When certain rebellious factions began to rise in the late 2510s, the UNSC was forced to police its protected colonies tirelessly to keep privateers and pirates from raiding the colonies and any UNSC ships. A great number of Defense Force ships and soldiers were lost during the HumanCovenant War. Unlike the Covenant, UNSC military technology is still based on comparatively primitive mechanisms - projectile weaponry, wheeled vehicles, and combustion engines. The UNSC's grasp of scientific concepts is far more advanced than the Covenant, but turning these concepts into functional machinery has proven more problematic. Recently, the UNSC has introduced a variety of Covenant-derived technologies into their arsenal: gravity plating aboard ships, energy shields to protect Spartan-II soldiers, and limited use of directed energy weapons, usually lasers, for example, the Spartan Laser, though the Covenant still retain their technological advantage. UNSC starship weaponry is based around missiles and Magnetic Accelerator Cannons. Their technological inferiority in the face of the Covenant means that it was often necessary for the UNSC to have a three-to-one numerical advantage against them in ship-to-ship combat. The UNSC also possesses weapons of mass destruction in the form of the NOVA Bomb.

Military
The UNSC's military arm is the United Nations Space Command Defense Force, which is divided into the UNSC Army, the UNSC Air Force, the UNSC Navy, and the UNSC Marine Corps. The Defense Force took control of the UNSC during the Human-Covenant War.

Forces of the UNSC

This section of the supplement details the forces used by the UNSC their weapons and the units you can choose. Each entry describes the unit and gives the rules to use them in your of Warhammer 40,000. The Forces of the UNSC section describes all of the troops and vehicles fielded by the UNSC. The UNSC Armoury, including details and rules for all the advanced and deadly weapons used by the UNSC, follows immediately afterwards. Unique Equipment Some items of UNSC Wargear are unique to particular units, while more than one unit uses others. If an item is unique, it is detailed in the entry for its owning unit; otherwise it is detailed in the wargear section.

UNSC Special Rules The units in the UNSC army list use a number of special rules that are common to more than one UNSC unit. Given here are the details of those rules. On Time, On Target: The UNSC player may re-roll all reserves rolls (even ones they have passed) once per turn. They may also re-roll the Scatter dice and the dice rolled for scatter distance when deep striking. Move Out: Just as the UNSC are adept at striking like lightning, they are also skilled at leaving the battlefield quickly once their objectives have been fulfilled. To represent this, any game in which the UNSC player is using an all droop troop army (all mounted in Pelicans or Deep Striking) may be modified by the following rule: On the 5th turn, the UNSC player can choose to end the game before it would normally finish. At the end of the fifth turn, the UNSC player can choose to carry on playing as normal or to end the game as his troops perform a perfectly executed withdrawal. "They're the best of the best, but they're only human."

UNSC SMART A.I.

A "Smart" A.I. is the colloquial term in the United Nations Space Command for Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) which have no limitations in their dynamic memory-processor matrix, meaning they can not only be taught a vast wealth of information, but can learn and comprehend from their surroundings. The first "Smart" A.I. was made in the mid 21st century. At first there was great concern that this new technology would become too capable and render human intelligence obsolete. The ability for vocal expressions was added as it made them less threatening, conversing on the same level as their masters. Over time, such A.I.'s became more advanced.[1] One example of a "smart" A.I. is Cortana. Dr. Catherine Halsey worked extensively with A.I.s and oversaw the construction of all their programming. She has an unparalleled knowledge on how A.I.s work and also created the upgrades for the MJOLNIR armor so it would be capable of carrying an A.I. Dr. Halsey also had her brain flash-cloned, which in turn were scanned to create two A.I.s, Cortana and Kalmiya. UNSC SPARTANS
In the years following the deactivation of Project Orion in 2506 the effectiveness of small Special Forces, combating the insurrectionists became too large for the UNSC to manage. As the insurrectionist attacks were becoming more effective and the military's responses heavier, the need for large scale actions were becoming more and more necessary. By 2517 the Office of Naval Intelligence concluded that the instability of the outer colonies would continue to escalate and unless drastic military measures were taken, it would result in a massive war between the inner colonies and the outer colonies. The SPARTAN-II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey of ONI's Section 3, as the successor to the original Orion project and the best possible solution to end the conflict. The project was created with several goals in mind: First to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue insurrections in their infancy, without substantial military casualties. Second to minimize civilian casualties, and advert civil war. And third, to substantially reduce the cost of conventional means of pacification. 0-1 UNSC Spartans 18 Points per model Elites: A UNSC Spartans squad is an Elites choice for an UNSC Army

UNSC CYCLOPS
The Cyclops is a bipedal exoskeleton used by the UNSC Marine Corps during the early years of the Human-Covenant War. While it was originally intended for logistical purposes, such as heavy lifting, it was repurposed for combat against the Covenant. The modification for combat included additional armor plating around the operator and joints, and specialized equipment for demolishing enemy fortifications. In combat, the Cyclops deals heavy melee damage, using its powerful arms, once used to carry heavy machinery and equipment, to deal devastating blows against enemy units and structures. It also possesses the ability to tear apart a destroyed vehicle and throw the pieces further at other units or structures, for additional damage. The hydraulic powered arms of the Cyclops are just as lethal to infantry as it is to buildings; when using the Cyclops special weapon on an infantry unit it will pick up the last one alive and repeatedly punch it, when facing special units such as Elite Honor Guards, the Cyclops will pick up its opponent by the throat then proceed to either choke it or snap its neck. In addition, the Cyclops can repair nearby vehicles and buildings. UNSC Cyclops 50 Points per model Elite: A UNSC Cyclops Squadron is a Elite choice for an UNSC Army

UNSC COBRA
The Cobra SP42 Cobra (MBT) Although the Cobra has the ability to fill two roles, it is a specialized fighting vehicle. It has specialized armored panels that are designed to deflect hardened projectiles and absorb massive amounts of damage from explosive shells. Although it is not particularly fast, the Cobra is highly maneuverable. It totes around a pair of Rail Cannons on its turret that fire a high-density slug designed to penetrate enemy armor. Alternately the Cobra crew can choose to lockdown the vehicle and deploy the larger Rail Cannon which fires a more high velocity explosive artillery shell. The sacrifice of mobility is made up for in the range advantage that elevating the big gun can offer. The artillery round is multipurpose and can cause a great amount of damage to just about anything it hits, including enemy fortifications.

ORBITAL DROP SHOCK TROOPS

The Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) is an elite group of UNSC Marines that specialize in special warfare tactics. Their method of infiltration by orbital drop allows them to conduct missions against targets that other conventional forces cannot approach undetected. The ODSTs are one of the primary Special Operations units of the United Nations Space Command, and is under the command of UNSC Naval Special Warfare Command. ODSTs are recruited from the Special Operations Groups of all the nations and colonies of the Unified Earth Government. Since the first group of handpicked volunteers was activated, these shock troopers have been conducting orbital drops ever since.

UNSC MARINES
The United Nations Space Command Marine Corps is a branch of the UNSC Defense Force that is responsible for land-based military operations as well as the protection of Naval vessels and installations from attack. A rugged and diverse assortment of well equipped and well trained men and women, one of the Marine Corps's most notable conflicts was fighting a losing war against the Covenant's highly superior technology and numbers. The UN Marine Corps (The predecessors of the UNSC Marine Corps) were one of the primary combat groups fielded by the UN in the Interplanetary War, and were the first military organization deployed off world in 2163. After the United Nations claimed victory in 2164, it reorganized into the UNSC, thereby changing the UN Marine Corps to the UNSC Marine Corps. Later, the UNSC Marine Corps would be responsible for dealing with Insurrectionist uprisings among UNSC colonies star systems. Also, it is believed that some marines were tasked with training individual colonies' militias.

UNSC WARTHOG
The Warthog is a generic term used to describe the M12 line of United Nations Space Command ground vehicles. The Warthog is mostly used by UNSC Marines as a sort of cavalry unit which included light mechanized forces advancing ahead of the main armored Scorpion tanks and foot soldiers to clear the way. The Warthog is the future HMMWV. All of its variants are equipped with a seemingly fulltime 4x4 transmission and four-wheel steering to allow for sharper turning; however, higher speeds will result in the under steer that All Wheel Drive (AWD) cars suffer, unless you drive while using the emergency brake. Most Warthog variants support a three man crew consisting of: 1 driver, 1 gunner, and 1 armed passenger (with the exclusion of the Warthog APC and the M831 TT). Interestingly, the Warthog LRV is water-resistant; it can easily ford water, although water retards its velocity. The Warthog is extremely quick and maneuverable, but is prone to rollover as a result of tight cornering or being struck by explosives or heavy weapons fire.

UNSC HORNET
The AV-14 Attack VTOL, full name AV-14 Attack Vertical Takeoff and Landing (Vehicle), colloquially known as the "Hornet", is a United Nations Space Command atmospheric assault vehicle. It is armed with two Class-2 Guided Munition Launch Systems made up of a missile launcher under each jump seat, and two tribarreled Rotary Cannons mou nted above the cockpit. It is also capable of carrying up to four passengers in lateral jump-seats. The passengers are highly exposed and have little to no protection. The Hornet consists of a oneman cockpit, and a rear section extending approximately one meter backward. From the top of this rear section are a set of wings with what appear to be jet engines, turbo fans or gyro rotators at the ends, providing the Hornet's main source of propulsion. It possesses gear that is able to differentiate friends from foes and lock on to enemy vehicles. On each side of the cockpit is a jumpseat extending backward that doubles as a landing skid. These skids allow up to 2 Spartan-sized passengers to fire from the sides (the vehicle can carry four regular Marines). The Hornet is slightly larger as than the Covenant Banshee. UNSC SCORPION MBT

The sturdy M808B Scorpion MBT is an armored tracked vehicle used during planet side combat. It can seat a driver, a gunner and four passengers that ride on the bogeys, two on each side. The counterpart to the Covenant Wraith, it lacks speed but the main cannon has a higher rate of fire, allowing for more damage to be dealt out, and has much greater accuracy, with no need to compensate for anything but muzzle-to-target travel time. Its main function is to provide anti-vehicular support. The Scorpion is equipped with two weapon systems. It has a short-to-mediumrange coaxial machine gun and extremely powerful main cannon. While the main cannon can fire one round every three to four seconds, the machine gun has an unlimited ammunition supply, no cool-down, and can fire when the cannon is reloading. The Scorpion's chassis is covered with heavy titanium-ceramic armor plating, making it incredibly resilient to smallarms fire; however, it's still possible for infantry-portable light anti-armor weapons to inflict a catastrophic kill.

UNSC RHINO
The M-145D Rhino is a prototype UNSC plasma artillery unit that was entering service in 2531. It saw its first deployment on Arcadia, where five were used to break through a Covenant energy shield. The Rhino seems to be a similar looking tank to the Scorpion, with several differences. While it has a similar bogey set up for its tracks, it has six track sets. It's also greater in size, has a more robust gun turret, and an even more unconventional track layout. The tracks are in similar places to the Scorpion, but then there are two sets behind the vehicle, possibly providing better support for the large gun in front. There are also two stabilizers that deploy from the rear of the vehicle during long range bombardment.

UNSC WOLVERINE
MAAT-9 Wolverine Main Anti Air Tank (MAAT): Wolverine is a fast moving maneuverable antiair vehicle. In its arsenal are two pods of Argent V Missiles that are located on the left and right of the driver and gunner seats. These missiles are specialized to target and deliver their warhead to an aircraft with great speed and maneuverability. The missile pods are quite large and can be reloaded via a mechanical system in the Wolverine, which stores a small supply of missiles onboard. The targeting systems and anti-air capabilities of the Wolverine are second to none, but it can also angle its missile pods to launch missiles at ground targets. Stationary targets and buildings are your best bets for actually hitting anything. Although air vehicles generally know to steer clear, the Wolverine is quite vulnerable to anti-armor attacks both from vehicles or heavily upgraded infantry. The driver has the use of a XM511 Heavy Grenade Launcher for defense from ground attacks, which can potentially wreck soft targets, but truly this support vehicle relies on heavier units to defend it from a determined attack.

The D77H-TCI is a fleet wide upgrade to the UNSC's squadrons of Pelican drop ships that have been in service for over 50 years. First seen deployed in November, 2552 the Pelican is the primary tactical support aircraft of the UNSC. The Pelican serves a multi-role purpose, it is fully capable of Atmospheric flight and can land almost anywhere without difficulty, the Pelican is also capable of limited spaceflight, making the pelican the prime troop transport of the UNSC. The D77H-TCI makes several drastic design changes to both the interior, and exterior, although the exteriors changes are not as noticeable as the interior is. The first significant change is in the cockpit area of the D77H which instead of having the pilot and copilot sitting next to each other, the copilot is now seated behind and above the pilot, the controls and instrument panels have been rearranged and upgraded for the D77H. A small holo-tank is installed in the cockpit, allowing an artificial intelligence to project its holographic form to the craft's pilots.

UNSC Wargear
This section of lists the deadly weapons and equipment used by UNSC forces, along with all the details youll need for using them in your games of Warhammer 40,000. Note that weapons and equipment that may be used by more than one type of model or unit are detailed here, while equipment that is unique to a single model or unit is detailed in the appropriate entry in the Forces section.

Ranged Weapons
M6C Pistol: Standard UNSC sidearm. Recoil-operated magazine fed handgun, firing a magazine of six 12.7mm semi-armor piercing rounds. Fired accurately in semi-automatic mode, can be powerful anti-personnel weapon. It has the following profile: Range 12 Str 3 AP Special Pistol

use as close rang weapon. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str X AP 5 Special Heavy 1, Sniper

Assault Rifle: BR 55 rifle fires 9.5mm rounds from 36round magazine. Mounted with a 2X optical scope for targeting. Fires in short, automatic bursts of three rounds. Very accurate, relatively high rate of fire makes it a useful all-around infantry weapon. Range 30 Str 3 AP Special Rapid Fire

Rocket Launcher: Most commonly used light anti-vehicle weapon in UNSC arsenal. Man-portable, shoulder fired, with single 2x level of magnification. Fires 102mm shapedcharge, high explosive tracking rockets. Reticle indicator denotes when launcher has achieved lock on target. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str 8 AP 3 Special Heavy 1

Sub Machine Gun (SMG): Bullet hose fires sustained burst of 5mm fire from 60-round magazine. SMGs, while not accurate over long distances, can provide withering fire at close quarters. Tends to walk upwards as compounding momentum from recoil takes hold. Therefore, careful moderation of aim required to maintain accuracy. It has the following profile: Range 18 Str 3 AP Special Assault 2, Pinning

Shotgun: Powerful, loud, pump-action, magazinefed, firing 8-gauge magnum (3.5) rounds with strong recoil. Devastating at close range and in confined quarters, should be used with caution. Ineffective damage rations at long range mean it should be used appropriately. It has the following profile: Range 12 Str 4 AP Special Assault 1

Sniper Rifle: Gas-operated, magazine fed weapon utilizes a smart-linked scope with two levels of magnification (5x and 10x). Firing 14.5mm armor-piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding-sabot rounds makes it very powerful. Sheer size and limited magazine capacity dictate strategic use. Devastating from a secured position, has clearly limited

Spartan Laser: The Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle, also known as the Spartan LASER, is the UNSC's ground-based, man-portable, antivehicle, directed energy weapon. It is the only known battery-powered UNSC weapon, and is the most powerful infantry weapon fielded by UNSC forces. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str 9 AP 2 Special Heavy 1

Missile Pod: The LAU-65D/SGM-151, also known as the Missile Pod, is a portable United Nations Space Command infantry weapon. It is a missile-launching weapon, and holds up to eight small, highly explosive missiles when released from its tripod. The Missile Pod is capable of locking onto vehicle or turret position targets. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str 8 AP 3 Special Heavy 2

up to about 50 meters. Its maximum effective range, however, is around 100 meters. The M6G is quite precise and has a very small shot spread at close to medium ranges. This combined with its decent damage against current shield systems makes it an acceptable weapon of choice when faced with shielded opponents. It is, however, a more effective against flesh and hard/soft armor, being able to kill targets in a single shot to the head or a few shots to the body. Range 12 Str 4 AP 6 Special Pistol 1

Flame Thrower: The NA4 Flamethrower is a type of flammable defoliant projector used by the UNSC Marine Corps during at least 2530 as it was used in the Second Battle of Harvest. Similar in function and use to its later successor, the M7057 Defoliant Projector, the NA4 was much larger and bulkier and, rather than attaching its fuel tank to the frame of the projector, the tank was carried on the back of the user, allowing greater capacity. In addition, the weapon used a range of flammable defoliants, to compensate for the variety of atmospheric and gravitational conditions it could be used in. It has the following profile: Range Template Str 5 AP 4 Special Assault 1

Carbine: MA5K Carbine has the following profile: Range 18 Str 3 AP Special Assault 2

Man Portable Grenade Launcher: This weapon has the following profile: Range 24 Str 5 AP 4 Special Assault 1, Blast

Under slung 40mm Grenade Launcher This weapon has the following profile: Range 24 Str 5 AP 4 Special Assault 1, Blast, Single Shot

M6G Personal Defense Weapon: The M6G Pistol is a semi-automatic, recoiloperated, magazine-fed, dual-wieldable, large caliber handgun. It is a later model of the M6 series pistols that was distributed to members of the UNSC Marine Corps, especially those of vehicular crews, The UNSC Marine Corps aviators are an example of this. The weapon has a polymer handle, along with a titanium alloy body and what appears to be an anticorrosion nickel-plate finish, It is likely a striker fired weapon, as it has a hammer cocked indicator and no external hammer; Trigger mode is unknown. It fires the M225 SAP-HE (Semi-Armor Piercing, High Explosive) rounds from an 8-round magazine at a velocity of 427 m/sec (1302.35 ft/sec). It has a rather low rate of fire being only about 2 rounds/sec or 120 rounds/min with a decent effective range, being able to hit a target accurately

Gauss Assault Rifle: MX101-TT Guass Assault Rifle has the following profile: Range 24 Str 5 AP 3 Special Rapid Fire, Gets Hot!

Laser Rifle: W/AI M10X G/GNR Laser Rifle has the following profile: Range 18 Str 4 AP 2 Special Assault 2, Gets Hot!

Missile Launcher: M41 SSR Missile Launcher has the following profile: Range 36 Str 8 AP 3 Special Heavy 1

lacks weapons, but can carry two people, one of whom can fire their weapon, although they will not be able to zoom in. A model riding a Mongoose counts as being on a bike. Thermite Grenades: Thermite grenades rely on a chemical process between metal powders and oxides to create high temperatures, with no explosion. Commonly, Aluminum and Iron (III) Oxide are used in the reaction. Thermite can reach temperatures an upward of 2500C (4500F), and is often used to melt through a wide range of things extremely quickly.. However, Thermite is rarely used for anti-infantry roles, and is more practical to use in antimaterial roles due to quickly disabling components with few ways of interfering with the reaction. Thermite Grenades count as Defensive Grenades in all respects. C-12 Demolition Charge: C-12 Demolition Charges count as defensive grenades and cause 2D6+5 armor penetration.

Armour
Carapace Armour: Carapace armour is made up of large rigid plates of armaplas or ceramite molded to fit the wearer. A model with carapace armour has an armour save of 4+. Flak Armour: Cheap and easy to produce, flak armour comprises several layers of ablative thermoplast materials and impact absorbent carbifibres. A model with flak armour has an armour save of 5+. Spartan Armour: Made from thick ceramite plates and electronically motivated fibre bundles, power armour is amongst the best protective armour available to the UNSC forces. Each set of armour incorporates an over shield that absorbs most impacts. A model with Spartan Armour has a 3+ save and a 4+ invulnerable save.

Vehicle Armoury
M41 LAAG: 3-Barreled, electric-powered, link-less drum-fed vehicle mounted light antiaircraft gun. Standard armament on Warthog. Fires 450-550 rounds per minute. Excellent armor penetration capability. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str 6 AP 4 Special Heavy 4, Rending

Other Equipment
Fragmentation Grenades: Basic explosive device has changed little thanks to excellent design and flexibility. Well thrown grenade will kill or stun most opponents. Fuse activates half a second after striking surface or object to avoid accidental detonation. Also allow combatants to bounce grenade into difficult to reach targets. Fragmentation grenades count as Offensive grenades in all respects. Combat Knife: A Combat Knife is a close combat weapon in all regards. Mongoose: The M274 Ultra-Light All-Terrain Vehicle (abbreviated M274 ULATV), commonly known as the Mongoose, is a United Nations Space Command light ground reconnaissance vehicle. The Mongoose

M68 Gauss Cannon: Asynchronous linear-induction motor produces bipolar magnetic field to fire 25mm projectile at hyper-sonic velocity. Excellent armor penetration capability, but not as effective against multiple infantry. It has the following profile: Range 48 Str 6 AP 2 Special Heavy 2

Scorpion Battle Cannon: The 90mm High Velocity Cannon is the primary weapon of the M808B Scorpion MBT. The cannon is of 90mm caliber and is capable of dishing out immense damage from shrapnel over a fair radius and can penetrate a good deal of armor, like that of the Covenant Wraith Tanks. It fires a tungsten sheathed Armour Piercing Ballistic Capped (A type of round that sacrifices armor penetration for larger amounts High Explosive filler) round at high speeds and can cause havoc when used on exposed enemy infantry. It has the following profile: Range 54 Str 9 AP 1 Special Ordnance 1

A unit may disembark from the transport vehicle directly onto the highest level of a city building or ruin. Each model disembarking must make a Dangerous Terrain test as it does so. Heavy Grenade Launcher: The heavy grenade launcher has the following profile: Range 48 Str 6 AP 3 Special Heavy 2

Plasma Artillery Cannon: The Plasma Cannon has the following profile: Range 120 Str 9 AP 2 Special Ordnance 1, Large Blast

Co-Axial Machine Gun: The Co-Axial machine is mounted alongside the Scorpion Battle Cannon. Any roll to hit that score with the machine gun part of the weapon allows the main battle cannon to reroll its scatter distance once per shooting phase. It has the following profile: Range 36 Str 3 AP 5 Special Heavy 3

102mm SC-HE Rocket Turret: This weapon has the following profile: Range 36 Str 8 AP 3 Special Heavy 2

Rail Cannon: This weapon has the following profile: Range 60 Str 8 AP 1 Special Heavy 1

Heavy Machine Gun: The AIE-486H Heavy Machine Gun is a standard Gatling-style heavy machine gun, used by the UNSC for offensive and defensive purposes. It is also more powerful than the UNSC's stationary turret, the M247 GP Machine Gun. It has saved many lives with its defensive capabilities holding enemy forces at bay for a limited time during the battle of Reach, accounting for many casualties to the Covenants efforts to take out the Orbital MAC Generators. Range 48 Str 4 AP 6 Special Heavy 4, Pinning

Bombard Rail Cannon: This weapon has the following profile: Range 72 Str 9 AP 1 Special Heavy 1

Rappelling Lines: Vehicles that can hover above the hazardous city ruins are often used to move troops quickly around the warzone. Some are fitted with special lines, allowing transported troops to dismount directly over the target.
