The audit monitor (AUDMON) will no longer create duplicate entries. Object Monitor - Library Replication This group of PTFs address the following issues: 1. There are two methods of replicating library changes. Method 1: When a library change (add, rename, delete) is detected by the object monitor 1 (xx_OBJMON1), it will send a send a work request to object monitor 2 (xx_OBJMON2). Object monitor 2 will then perform any necessary database processing sequentially. This is the default and preferred method. Method 2: The Object monitor 1 can be changed to submit library changes instead of using object monitor 2. Each change will be processed as a separate job. However, if there are multiple changes for the same library then unpredictable results can occur. To use method 2 perform the following steps: a. b. c. d. 2. Select menu 10.50. Select option 2 on E2LIBPROC. Change the field 'Base Processing Method' to 'S'. End and restart the xx_OBJMON job or end and restart the iTERA subsystem.

ITHA-3042 ITHA-2756 ITHA-3041

After a library is created, the object monitor will detect it and automatically perform a library analysis to retrieve information such as description, library size, and the number of objects. These fields are not required for replication. This data gathering process can perform a temporary lock on the library. This analysis can be bypassed for customers that have a significant number of libraries being created, renamed, and or deleted and where object locks are a concern. If the process is bypassed, this information will not be displayed in menu 4.11 unless the library analyzer is initiated via F18=Submit Library Analyzer.

To make this change perform the following steps: a. b. c. d. 3. Select menu 10.50. Select option 2 on E2LIBPROC. Change the field 'Perform library analyzer' to 'N'. End and restart the xx_OBJMON job or end and restart the iTERA subsystem.

CR #

The object monitor used the filter to determine whether objects are to be replicated. This may require the program to retrieve the attribute of an object, which causes a transitory lock on the object. This lock can cause an object to not be deleted, especially for *LIB (libraries). The default has been changed to not retrieve attributes for libraries, unless changed.

Retrieving the attribute is normally not required, except for *DTAARA, *DTAQ, and *FILE types. Changing the data area E2FLTUSE to use the filter data type will change the process to retrieve attributes, if needed. To change the default perform the following: a. b. c. Select menu 10.50. Select option 2 on E2FLTUSE. Do one of the following: Change the field 'Use filter type data area' to 'Y' to start using the filter processing. Change the field 'Use filter type - library' to 'N' to always retrieve the attributes of libraries. d. 08 1HA2762 End and restart the xx_OBJMON job or end and restart the iTERA subsystem. ITHA-2996

Audit Console (1.8) Improved functionality in the Audit Console prevents multiple instances of the same audit from running at the same time. This will reduce processing time and potential audit conflicts. Audit dependency rules have better restrictions. For example, if the Audit Stream is running, none of the individual audits that it runs can be submitted (e.g., Check Object Match, Database Relations, Journaled Objects, Journaled Objects List, Record Count). Conversely, if any of the audits that the Audit Stream executes are running, then E2AUDSTM cannot be submitted. Note: If the audit stream (E2AUDSTM) has been modified in E2.CUST, it will need to be updated to reflect the changes. The new source is located in E2.CUSTX. Jobs from the audit console that had previously been held in order to prevent the duplicate issues from occurring should now be released. Vision recommends that audits be scheduled in the job scheduler and monitored from the console. Additional details are available in the iTERA HA v6.0 Training Guide. The current status of an active audit is now displayed. The current interval for audits that cannot run on the system is no longer displayed.

Improved messaging when receivers are missing for the OBJMON1 job.

ITHA-2223

08

Message files have been updated. The language library will be created when language is changed for a user.

ITHA-2930

07

Extra library sync processes have been removed.

ITHA-3025

08

E25000RPH changed to process Authority Audit journal entries (U-21) for those objects that are locked by the apply program. Role Swap Readiness Monitor checks for remote SQL Connectivity. The program that makes that test is E22175RP. E22175RP changed to be more fault tolerant in doing the SQL Check. A new message is written to the E2MSGLOG in the event of a failure. The message relays the SQLSTATUS and the text description of the failure as provided by the SQLERROR API. The intent of the message is to point to the reason for failure. This will enable both CustomerCare and customers to evaluate an SQL Connectivity problem. Tape Sync will now work when multiple new libraries are selected from the 4.12 screen. Role Swap Readiness Monitor (1.7) The MONTHR test now displays the number of journal receivers if the threshold has been exceeded.

1HA2642

The library apply program has been changed to prevent a spool file from being generated when an attempt is made to delete an entry from the list of open files that is not in the list. The Object Monitor 2 (OBJMON2) job no longer waits for exclusively locked objects. It now bypasses the entry and proceeds to the next record. NOTE: Messages HAE0729 and/or HAE0738 will be displayed in the message log if iTERA HA is unable to modify or change the audit level on a locked object. These messages can be sent to QSYSOPR, or other designated message queue. Refer to the iTERA HA Reference Guide (E2MSGLOG, F8=Message Routing) for information on message routing.

Description

CR #

1HA2604

Logical file sync was significantly enhanced in SP7, including the following: The apply process now ensures that if there are changes or member creates that appear while a logical file is in the process of being resynced that those changes are made when the sync process is complete. Changes (member creation, object level changes, etc.) are held until the logical file has been restored. A change was made to prevent a logical file resync from being stuck in APLWAT. In the past when a RGZPFM with ALWCANCEL(*YES) is specified if the file contained LOBs the attempt to truncate deleted records from the file (F-CE) failed. This has been corrected. (Note that performing a RGZPFM in this manner causes a performance hit because there is a journal entry sent for each record level change made to the file as it is reorganized on the primary system. While RGZPFM can be performed in this manner, it is not recommended.) Several maintenance issues were addressed, including when a file is deleted the corresponding record is deleted from E2POBJ, and new logical file members are always added to the target. When a journal entry with incomplete data set is replayed by QDBRPLAY, the function now tests the incomplete data pointer to verify that it is valid. If it is not valid the replay is not attempted and the file is resynced. This change should never come into play, but if it does the program will not fail.

E25004CP was changed to eliminate a benign error related to attempting to cancel overflow sync data queues. Audit Console - Journaled Objects Audit (1.8 JRNOBJJRN) A change was made to JRNOBJJRN to look for logical file journaling information by calling the increased functionality of the RtvJrnObj2 function. IFS Replication (5.2) The screen will now display the correct message at the bottom-right of the screen for a subfile with 9 records. It will display Bottom, instead of More.

Ragged Saves - E2SAVRAG A 'ragged' save is a save of a file (or data area) that has at least one record that is part on an open commit. A ragged save will include the extra records. Two conditions are required in order to perform the ragged save. First, the parameter E2SAVWAIT must have *NOCMTBDY as the second parameter. Second, the E2SAVRAG parameter must not be *NO. Application Audit (1.8 - APP_AUDIT) The application audit has been changed to a diagnostic tool, to be used primarily by CustomerCare. It is being removed from the audit console (1.8) and menu option 10.51, which displayed the audit results, is also being removed. The new menu option for viewing the latest installed PTF Service Pack is 10.44. Prior to this PTF, the save ragged operation only executed if the E2SAVRAG data area had a value of *YES. After applying this PTF the save ragged operation will execute by default, instead of on the exception basis. The save ragged operation is used for objects that use commitment control, but has no negative consequences for objects without commitment control. However, you may manually set the E2SAVRAG data area to *NO to prevent this operation from executing.

PTF

Description

CR #

1HA2399

The apply program has been changed to prevent a linked list failure in the event the user space containing a linked list is now located at a different single level store address. The linked list modules now use offsets instead of pointers. The apply program was also changed to set a normal OSR status instead of a cancelled status when a file has synced successfully.

ITHA-2221

05

1HA2398

The directory entry conversion file was not replicated as part of the upgrade process. This PTF corrects the issue so that the file will now be replicated. Data area E2QCTLSBS must be 40 bytes long. At one time the standard length was 10 bytes. If for some reason the length is still 10 then the contents of the data area is ignored and an error message may be added to the job log. This PTF retrieves the contents of the data area and if not 40 bytes it then replaces the data area with the correct length. These PTFs resolve an audit value change persistency issue on the backup. When the IFS QDLS/root system files audit value is changed on the primary, the change will persist in backup. PTFs 1HA2393, 1HA2394 and 1HA2395 are corequisite. The speed of the IFS apply has been improved; particularly when a new object is created. This PTF improves default value handling for data area E2OSLVL (Minimum iTERA HA OS Level) and centralizes the logic to a single utility program. The value of E2OSLVL is used internally when saving the iTERA HA product in preparation for sending and restoring to a new node. This PTF adds journal images settings to the JRNOBJLST and JRNOBJJRN audits to make sure that the object settings on primary are kept in sync with internal iTERA HA tables on both primary and target systems. Broken socket connections for the xx_JSNDRC jobs have been resolved. With the sockets reconnecting, objects requesting sync should not hang in AplNtfy status when using RJT Syncing. The iTERA HA subsystems must be down when applying this PTF. Role Swap Readiness Monitor Changed the use of the SAVOBJ command to replace any contents found in a test save file.

In a three-node environment the 3.3 screen on the primary system was reporting the status as *INACTIVE for both remote systems after deactivating one of the remote journals to one of the remote systems. This PTF fixes the issue so that the correct status is reported. Journal Change Requests (3.22) When performing journal changes for multiple types options 2=Change Request and 9=Attempt Request would fail unless the type of the object matched the last one on the list. These options passed the object type of the last one on the list instead of the correct type. The issue has been resolved.

This PTF adds a program that returns the product library name, given the product id and product version. This is needed by the EUDEPLOY process. This PTF adds logic to the EUDEPLOYC program to rebuild the library list before deployment or upgrading occurs. This will assure a correct library list in case some prior process (e.g. a PTF exit program) has left the library list in an incorrect state. This PTF changes the sync request to always reset the attribute when it processes an object. This should prevent the SR_ jobs from going into DLYW-60 with failed CHGJRNOBJ when processing journaled logicals at V6R1. This PTF corrects the assignment of node roles for replicate nodes when using the E2SETPRI command for a CRG that contains a replicate. A new library was required for AutoValidate. In some cases this library was not being created on the backup machine. This PTF makes sure the library exists. Without this fix the object monitor was getting an error if the library VSI001LIB didn't exist. This fix will prevent the xx_RMTCMD job from overloading the E2JOBQ. It will stage the pending requests in the E2PRMTCMD file until there is room in the job queue. The maximum number of jobs allowed in the job queue is stored in a new data are called E2MAXRCJBQ. The default is 500. Once this threshold has been reached, the xx_RMTCMD will also remove non-critical jobs from the E2PRMDCMD staging file. Logical files should no longer show up in red in 4.21 on the primary when the LF is not journaled.

Configuration Replication (5.4) If conversion is used and the length of the conversion value is changed then some of the command may be dropped causing the replication to fail. Module E24001RP (part of program E24001CP) reads the E2PRMTCMD file and processes the remote requests. The issue is that E24001RP will delete the record before it processes the request. This creates a window where a remote command request could be lost (i.e. the program is ended after the delete of the record but before the request is processed). The alternative would be to not delete the record until after the request has been processed. This could mean that a single request is processed twice (i.e. if the program is ended after it processes the request but before it deletes the record); however, this is better than not processing the request at all. Data Area E2QCTLSBS needs to be 40 bytes long. At one time the standard length was 10 bytes. If for some reason the length is still 10 then the contents of the data area is ignored and an error message may be added to the joblog. This PTF retrieves the contents of the data area and if not 40 bytes replaces the data area with the correct length. Check Object Match Audit (1.8 CHKOBJMTCH) Trigger Audit (1.8 TRG_AUDP & TRG_AUDT) If an SQL trigger is created through the trigger audit a trigger program is also created. The name of the program may be different depending upon the order the triggers are created. When the CHKOBJMTCH audit is run then it is possible for the audit to delete the trigger program that is required for the new audit. This change allows trigger programs to be excluded from the audit. This new feature matches what is performed for stored procedures. To use this capability take option 10.50 and change the parm E2AUOTRG. The valid values are *NONE, *SQL, and *ALL.

Upgrade Added a conversion program for the file E2PXJRNC Add second level messages added to the message files. Fixed an issue with QDLS objects that are renamed on the primary to be consistent on the target system. Previously, the old object would have been renamed on the target (old object) but the object with new name was also added to the target. E2SAVWAIT & E2SAVWAITQ Parameters In the past the default value placed in these parameters would be different depending upon which save process was performed. Now E2SAVWAIT will be '120 *NOCMTBDY' to allow saves of files with at least one commitment boundary.

This problem happens when we try to audit a file that has lot of PF info data, most likely from lots of constraints and triggers. This fix will change the role swap to activate the takeover IP address on the new primary and inactive the takeover IP address on the new backup. This PTF changes the EURUNEXITS program to report status messages back to the GUI upgrade wizard. Now, when each exit program is called, a message appears in the GUI wizard panel to inform the user. This PTF adds stronger cohesion between the server side and the GUI install wizard during an upgrade. More status messages are now sent to the GUI interface so the user can be made aware of what is happening during the upgrade process. This PTF changes the EUDEPLOYC program to send a status message to the GUI upgrade wizard informing the user that the upgrade process is beginning. This only affects the upgrade if the GUI upgrade wizard is being used. Journaled Object Change Requests (3.22 F18 Option 7 or 8) When changing the journal image as part of mass journal changes. The program allowed you to change the image to either A=After or B=Both. This still works, however taking option 7 or 8 does not. The program has been changed so that option 7 and 8 will work.

These PTFs do the following: 1) 2) The audit flag on Dir/Flr will be set to *CHANGE when replication is started. When the IFSMON job gets an instruction that a file needs to be replicated, an IFSMON API (qlgstatvfs64) looks for the file on the primary. If for some reason the file does not exist, then the API sends an error message, which previously would be displayed in the joblog. The error message will now be sent to E2MSGLOG instead.

Journaled Objects Audit (1.8 - JRNOBJJRN) Additional configuration to the JRNOBJJRN audit was added to the audit to allow the audit to use the exclusions files. This will ignore any objects defined in the exclusions file and allow a file to be journaled on the primary but not on the backup. NOTE: This is not a recommended procedure and should not and cannot be implemented without assistance from CustomerCare. If the file is not journaled then the file cannot be used as part of a virtual role test. Any manual changes on the target to the file will not be recognized. The file will have to be resynced. Library Management When a library is deleted E21520RP is called. It was calling a procedure which was performing a read lock on the file. This lock was preventing the deletion of the library. This problem has now been eliminated through the use of a new procedure. Object Monitor Added two changes to the object monitor. 1. Exclude all processing for entries created by the apply job program E25020RPH. 2. Add the ability to delay the OBJMON by a designated number of seconds. This PTF improves message feedback from the Work with Triggers screen 4.23. If a trigger cannot be disabled because it is a system trigger, the IBM message CPF32C6-Trigger operation not successful. is displayed in the program's message subfile. Place the cursor on the message and press F1 to view message details. All sync objects appear in the tape sync list. including objects eligible for net sync. This was changed to only show objects over the Network Max Sync Size (1.1, F6). Non-Mirrored Objects can be sent through the RJT Sync journals. This PTF fixes a bug of not reporting the appropriate sync status when there is an error. Improves the NetSync restore process when dealing with objects that may be in-use on the target during a restore. Modifies the EUINSTCRG program to work in conjunction with the GUI installation wizard. User Profile Replication Each time a user was audit, it was changed on the backup even if no changes occurred on the user profile. Also if the maximum storage allowed for a user exceeds 999,999,999 Kbytes then the number set up on the backup would be wrong or the user profile would not replicate.

Apply library authority after library quick sync. Because of an OS restriction, data queues cannot be restored if they already exist, even if we specify ALWOBJDIF(*ALL) MBROPT(*ALL). Audit Console (1.6) Application Audit This is a new audit. This audit is designed to evaluate the object setup of the application's objects. The audit includes the following tests: 1. Objects (including programs, files, and data areas) that should exist in the iTERA HA libraries. 2. Files that are supposed to have data but do not. 3. Logical files that are linked to the wrong physical file. 4. PTFs are installed properly. 5. Files that are missing from the CRG. 6. Files that should not be in the CRG. There is a program to display any issues.

20143

04

When a physical file is changed from one journal to another and one or more of the associated logical files is journaled then the journaling for the logical files must be ended first and started after the physical has been journaled. In some instances the ending of the logical files does not occur. The primary program that starts and ends journaling has been changed to fix the problem. E23311CP changed to prevent multiple SR_ jobs being submitted for certain non-database objects. Add E2PAPRS to the DDM control file. There may be several files that exist on the CRG library that should not exist. This PTF will remove them from the CRG library.

E25003RP changed to return E2PJRN RRN for the current journal. E25030RP changed to bring HA60 version to the same level as the HA50 version. Also bind to the latest QDBRPLAY wrapper. E25004CP changed to retry delete operation if a sync data queue is locked. This fix will prevent error message CPF501B from being generated when we exit the 4.20 screen. This happens when a library which begins with a Z and a number such as Z2*. This PTF resolves an issue with open DDM conversations that was causing the interactive session to lock up for some customers when exiting the 4.30 menu option, or when signing off. General Objects for Attribute Audit This task contains the user interface objects for the attribute audit Command interface and processing objects for Object Attribute Audit (OAA). Add data area descriptions to data areas created in E21500RP. The ZZ-Audit program, E21500RP, changed to authorize QDBSTSRV to make object changes on the target machine. This program updates files with statistics for the IBM Query Optimizer. The system value QDBFSTCCOL is used to permit the system to record statistics. Before this change the only way to replicate changes was to manually delete the device on the backup and then quick-sync it again. Provide the ability to replicate *CFGL object types. Due to the overhead required to replicate any *CFGL, they are normally disallowed. To allow replication of *CFGL objects the flag must be turned on in the control screen (F20). Add the ability to perform a SAVCFG and replicate it on the backup every day at a set time. Add the ability to clear the status field on any object. It should not set the auto disable flag. This PTF fixes that issue. E29975RP deletes E2* data areas that are used to guarantee no more than one copy of the apply job, ZZ Audit job and the accelerator job for any journal are running at one time. At startup of any of these jobs the data area is created if it doesn't exist. It is then exclusively allocated. The name pattern of the data is E2JA, E2JZ, or E2JX plus six digits for the RRN of the record in E2PJRN these are for the apply, ZZ-audit or accelerator respectively. The PTF exit program will execute E29975RP when the PTF is installed. That may be the only time E29975RP needs to be run. It can however be run at any time.

E25003RP now sets fields in the LDA for processing by the control program for the apply jobs, ZZAudit jobs and Accelerator jobs. E21063RE changed to allow users to change the name of Apply, ZZ-Audit and Accelerator jobs. A job with the new name will not be started until there is no job with the old name active. Blanking the job names will cause the program to regenerate the standard names. It is suggested that the jobs for a single journal have names that are closely related to make management simpler.

This PTF modifies the update process to NOT rename the older ITXP library. ITXP will remain on the box as version 4.2 to support other vision applications that might be relying upon it. iTERA HA 6.0 will use ITXP43 as its cross product library. Therefore, the rename is not needed and is hereby removed. This PTFs adds a record to the EUPEXITS file so that the upgrade process will call E5X2000C which properly modifies the job descriptions' library lists for the new version of the software. This PTF adds the ability for the upgrade process to change the library list in a job description to facilitate the renaming of the cross product library from ITXP in the old version to ITXP43 in the new version. This PTF improves the timing of several role swap events to ensure that each step's completion update occurs as designed. Specifically, the initialization step should no longer remain in a RUNNING status throughout the duration of a role swap. This PTF provides improvements to the Roleswap Monitor step status update program. If errors occur when attempting to update a role swap step status, information is sent to the E2MSGLOG to assist with troubleshooting. Note: The inability to update a step status does not negatively impact the role swap. The step may remain active on the monitor although the role swap was completely successful. This is generally due to a DDM failure which prevents the status from being updated from the target machine.

This PTF corrects a display issue in the System Monitor (1.1) screen for Journal Entries not Applied. If the number of unapplied entries in a single journal exceeded 100 million, that number was not displaying on the screen. It now supports a 10 digit value of nearly 10 billion. Corrected sync file error CPF1023. Add a new file E2POMEX. This file is used to allow object monitor exclusions. System Values Replication Copy file to all CRGs
