To check the BIOS version currently installed: at the start of boot, when the HP logo is displayed, press F8 to enter Configuration & Diagnostics, then press F2 to enter BIOS Setup. The BIOS version number is displayed in the main menu.
Boot on the diskette Boot the PC on the diskette. Allow Bootblock update Start the flash Check DIP switch 9 is set to position ON (default position, it can remain in this position) At the A:\> prompt, type FLASH

Wait for completion After about 15 seconds the BIOS flash process will start. DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE PC ONCE FLASHING HAS STARTED. Reboot Once complete, you will be instructed to reboot the PC.
Advanced users: for BIOS flash options, type: hp82726 /? If switch 9 is set to position OFF, it prevents Bios update. (ON is the default setting)
