Dr Olayinka Okeola, a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Ilorin, teaches and researches in civil engineering. His research interests include water resources system; urban water supply management, climatic impact studies on water resources and integrated water resources management (IWRM). His research work also involves the use of decision analysis and optimization modeling to find solution to myriad problems of water resources. His research works have led to numerous peer-reviewed paper publications. He has written monographs, instructional guides and joint technical papers. He is a member of National Water Resources Capacity Building Network (NWRCBNetNC) for North Central Geo-Political Zone of Nigeria. Dr Okeola is a licensed professional engineer under the Nigerian law and has membership of many professional bodies. These include American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), International Water Association (IWA), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). He also conducted independent consulting for variety of clients and projects included. He had over 10 years experience in structural engineering design and in tendering/contract administration, checking of consultant submission and project monitoring, supervision and reporting. Dr Okeola is a Peace Ambassador and has received the Pillars of Nation Building Award to 2012 Distinguished Academic ICON from the Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development of Nigeria (SINRHD). He received the Meritorious Service award of The Nigerian Society of Engineers in 2000. He also bagged Ondo Local Government Award of the National Youth service Corps Outstanding Performance in 1990 and received Ondo State Commendation Award of National Youth service Corps in 1990. Dr Okeola visits prison, motherless homes, hospital and has voluntarily donated his blood eight times in the last 15years at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Covey.
