Title of the Project : A STUDY ON ANALYSIS OF CONSUMERS PERCEPTION AND BRAND PREFERENCES OF HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION IN RELIANCE DIGITAL IN BANGALORE.

Working Title:
Analysis of consumer perception and brand preference of High-Definition Television sets in Reliance Digital in Bangalore

INTRODUCTION
High Definition Television, or HDTV, is the current trend of all TV sets on the market today. An HDTV set simply means that it is able to display images that have a much higher resolution, when compared to standard TV. DTV stands for Digital Television, and though they often go together with HDTV, they are totally independent technologies, that can be used in tandem or independently. Digital Television covers the digital transmission of moving images and sound, and is the successor to the current analog TV, that is widely in use today. High-definition television, abbreviated as HDTV, refers to television with high resolution video as compared to the standard-definition television (or SDTV). The difference between the two concepts is quite significant, as HDTV has one or two million pixels per frame - which is five times the number of pixels per frame in SDTV. When HDTV technology was introduced, it was primarily dependent on analog technique for broadcasting. More recently, however, it has undergone a vast change and digital broadcasting is just one of the many attributes which gives new HDTV technology an edge over its SD counterpart .
