Lifting trunnions

Field of application

The safe handling of components during manufacture and on the site requires the use of lifting tackles. This standard specifies cast-on, weld-on and plug-in lifting trunnions. The following basic rule applies: If several lifting trunnions are provided for the lifting of a component, they shall be so dimensioned that a single trunnion can carry the biggest part of the load.

Trunnion length l3 is determined by the designer; it shall not be less than d3 and shall not exceed 1,5 x d3. The location hole of the component shall be at least equal to trunnion length l3. 2) Calculated for l3 = 1 x d3

Execution

The weld seam for type D shall be executed according to quality level C as in DIN EN ISO 5817 and shall be indicated in the drawing.
