Before you go: 1. Make sincere "Tawba" to Allah(swt) and determine that you want to start a "new"life after Hajj. 2. Try to reconcile every "wrong"committed by you. Return rights of people: be it wealth or honor. 3. Write a "wasiyyah" so that everything about your properties, loans etc. are known and hand it over to someone you trust, keeping in mind that you may not come back alive. To be Memorized: Umra Major Steps: 1. Ihram (( 2. Tawaf (( 3. Sai ()
4. Tahallul (( )Conclusion of Ihram) Hajj days(8 - 13 zilhajj) 1. Mina day* (8) 2. Arafah day (9) 3. Eid day (10) 4. Mina days (11-13)
Same as before. 3. For those who are going Medina first then Makka: Your Ihram will be from the "Miqat" of the people of Medina. Your Hajj agency will inform you. Note 1: Your wearing Umra clothing from your place is not Ihram. Note 2: The Captain of the aeroplane will announce the time of crossing "Miqat" so don't worry. Memorize: Talbiya: Labbaykallaahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka laka labbayk. Innal-hamda wan-nimata laka wal-mulk, laa shareeka lak

Audio file: 1. http://www.2muslims.com/images/talbiyah.rm 2. http://www.submission.org/hajj/talbiyah.ram Note 3: Saying Talbiya is sunnah. Note 4: Talbiya starts with Ihram. Note 5: It is sunnah for men to raise their voice for Talbiya but women should not. Note 6: Talbiya should not be recited in congregation, as many people do. Suggestion: Learn the meaning and significance of Talbiya so that you can concentrate on the meaning while saying it. Please refer to the following link: http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/21617
5.What is commonly said is that in Ihram you cannot wear "stitched" cloth. In fact it has got nothing to do with having stitches or not. So if a person stitches 2 small pieces of cloth together to make a large one it is perfectly okay, as long as it is not cut according to the shape of any part of the body.
- It is also sunnah to touch the Hajar after this prayer before starting Sai, but as before do not even try to do that, because that will cause harm to others and so in stead of doing a sunnah you will end up gathering some sin because of causing harm to Muslims. What to do in case of doubt in number of tawaf (is this my 4th of 5th round?)?: If you can say that "most probably" it is 4/5 then you can depend on that. But if it is a 50-50, then go for the less. If doubts appear after ending tawaf do not bother at all.
Memorize: Tawaaf steps in short: 1. Enter Mosque 2. Do Idtiba 3. Go to Green light 4. Face and Point at Hajar Saying Allahu Akbar 5. Start walking keeping Kaba to your left 6. Repeat this 7 times 7. Undo Idtiba and Pray 2 rakat. Note: 1. If you make some mistakes (forgetting to say Allahu Akbar for example), don't worry. If you have completed seven rounds the tawaaf is valid insha Allah. 2. You can understand that you will not be able to do some of the sunnah things due to crowd, so don't worry. We hope that Allah will give you the reward because of your intention. Tips: 1. If you have women with you it may be better to do tawaaf and Sai in the 1st floor. 2. If Azaan starts while you are in Tawaaf or Sai, immediately look for a place in prayer row and do not continue, otherwise you will not find an inch to stand when prayer starts. Continue your tawaaf/sai after prayer.

Meaning: Verily, As-Safa and Al-Marwah (two mountains in Makkah) are of the Symbols of Allaah [al-Baqarah 2:158] I start with that with which Allaah started. After that it is sunnah to climb As-Safa and be in such a position that Kaba can be seen and then say the following Zikr + Dua raising hands facing Kaba: 1. "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulk, wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdah, anjaza wadah, wa nasara abdah, wa hazamaa alahzaaba wahdah" 2. Your own dua 3. "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulk, wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdah, anjaza wadah, wa nasara abdah, wa hazamaa alahzaaba wahdah" 4. Your own dua 5. "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulk, wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer. Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdah, anjaza wadah, wa nasara abdah, wa hazamaa alahzaaba wahdah"
Pronounciation and Meaning:
"Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the Dominion, all praise is due to Him, and He is able to do all things. There is no god but Allaah alone; he fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His slave, and defeated the confederates alone" Then move towards Al-Marwa. When you reach the green marker run as quickly as you can until you reach the second green marker. But woman should not run and those accompanying women should not run either because it will lead to leaving her behind. Also you should not run in a way that disturbs others. This running is applicable in all of the 7 rounds. When you reach Al-Marwa climb until you see Kaba and say the same things as you did at As-Safa. This completes 1/7 rounds of Sai. Then move back to As-Safa and do the same things. Repeat the process until the 7th round completes at Al-Marwa. This ends your Sai, so don't say the above things at your last stoppage at Al-Marwa. Tahallul: After Sai a Man ends his Ihram with shaving or shortening his hair. If he is doing Tamattu and Hajj is close, it is better to shorten, but shortening should be done by cutting hair from all over the head. Practically speaking you will tell the barbar to shorten your hair with the "Machine". This serves the purpose. And women should cut the length of a fingertip from their hair. Your Umra has ended. All Ihram prohibitions are lifted for the time being. Notes: 1. The length that must be covered in Sai is recognized by looking at the length of the "Wheelchair track" which is a passage made for those using wheel chairs. So whoever covers this length seven times has performed Sai. Other actions are sunnah, so don't worry if you forgot or could not do some of the other things. 2. Climbing As-Safa or Al-Marwa is not really "Climbing a Hill" as it comes to our mind. It is actually an enclosed (and air-conditioned) place. So the beginning of As-Safa or Al-Marwa is recognized by a change in the design of the marbles of the floor and the slight upslope. In any case don't worry at all if you cannot visualize. Even a complete dummy can do Tawaf and Sai perfectly once he goes there, it is very easy. 3. Due to heavy crowd it may not be possible to stand in a place so that Kaba can be seen while making Dua at As-Safa and Al-Marwa. So don't worry, you can stand at a location that is easier. 4. Keep on making Zikr, Dua or Reciting Quran while you move between Safa and Marwa.
Memorize: 1. Move to Safa while saying the zikr mentioned. mentioned at Safa 3. Start for Marwa you Did in Safa 4. Run between green marks. 2. Say zikr + dua 5. Do at Marwa as
Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulk, wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer (There is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the Dominion, all praise is due to Him, and He is able to do all things) 3. Don't follow people wandering here and there and climbing mountains etc. 4. It is very sad that many of the Bangladeshi tents are full of Gosip, Milad and absurd Waz Mahfil on this day. So I advise brothers to leave the tents and find a silent place where he can concentrate on zikr and dua. 5. When you move from Arafa to Muzdalifa, you may get caught up in Traffic Jam, so if you realize that It will be Midnight before reaching Muzdalifa, you have to pray Maghrib and Isha because they cannot be delayed after Midnight. If getting down from your Bus is not possible, pray at your places. If Wudu is also impossible, you can do tayammum with the dust that is on the sit/floor of the bus or even on your shoes. 6. Don't get busy picking pebbles from Muzdalifa. Rather you will pick pebbles from Mina. 7. Another important time for zikr(praise of Allah, takbeer) and dua is after Fajr at Muzdalifa before heading for Mina. 8. Don't forget to say Talbiya from time to time. And remember me in your dua at Arafa...
6.Your sacrifice is taken care of by "institutions" whom you pay to do it on your behalf, so make arrangements by discussing with your Hajj agency. So you can move on to the barbar for shaving your head right after stoning. Women should cut the length of a fingertip from their hair. 7.By shaving your Head after stoning you enter the state of "First Tahallul". Which means that the prohibitions of the state of Ihram are lifted accept for marital relationship or words/actions that are done between the spouses. (prohibited action No. 8 and 9, see Hajj step by step Part - 3). 8. When you move from Mina to Makka for Tawaf and Sai it is better if you can walk, otherwise you may have to sit in your bus for hours. You will not find any difficulty in recognizing your path to Makka, simply because everyone is going to Makka on this day to do Tawaf and Sai. 9. When you come back from Makka to Mina, it is better if you can be with the group, because you may find difficulty in recognizing your tent at Mina. Remember that Mina is a perfect maze, don't rely at all on your memory for finding out your tent. Memorize your tent number. If you lose your way, the best way to find your tent is to follow the Maps that are erected all through out Mina. So don't panic and follow the Map, it is more than perfect. 10. If your agent decides on taking you for Tawaf and Sai on the next day then it is okay, so don't worry and be with them. 11. After Tawaf you are completely free from your "Ihram" state and all prohibitions of Ihram are lifted. The only thing left is staying Mina and stoning 2/3 more days. 12.Tawaf and Sai of Hajj is same as Umra. Except that now you are wearing your normal cloth and not the Ihram cloths which you changed after shaving and therefore there is no "Idtiba".
